Definitely need an operational airfield to scramble anywhere, sea or land.

Am wondering if I would have had more success in China if I had have stacked up Kweichow instead of Hopei.
Not surprising that Japan was quite strong when the USA went nearly completely KGF.
In general, I think it is really hard for the Axis in this variant - quite broken IMO. Perhaps slightly stronger play against China and UK_Pac may have swung it so that I could neutralise those nations sooner.

In that way you would’ve more successfully divided UK and Chinese forces, I think.
Tried to balance it somewhat, but your misadventure down in Africa with the German fleet made it easier for me to spend money on land units in Europe instead of Navy and grab hold of Normandy early.
Then you had at least three heavy TUV loss battles that I can come to think of. The German fleet, the Italian fleet + air and the attack on Germany in, I think Finland.
Yes, maybe you should have been more successful in the Pacific, but it’s always easier on the paper so to speak.
