TripleA also has various versions and setup of the the game.
So you could start the 1942scenario or balance mod, or tournament rules.
Or even classic or revised.

@The-Captain yea good idea to have one of the Big Dogs along to take a hit. Only 3 bucks to repair.
Be interesting how they work out.
-
@The-Captain so Naval Mines are placed in your capital but can’t move by land. This means that france and russia can’t have them ?
Unlikely they’d ever place them if they could but just want it to be correct :)
-
@The-Captain can a Escort transport Naval mines and still be a Convoy even if it hasn’t laid it’s mines ?
Or, in other words, can a loaded Escort become part of a Convoy ?
Edit
Also, can a Escort sweep Mines even when they are loaded with Mines ? -
France & the Soviet Union cannot produce Naval Mines - since these Nations Capitals are not adjacent to a sea zone.
An Escort unit can be part of a Convoy - even if it is loaded with Naval Mines.
An Escort unit can sweep enemy Naval Mines while loaded with own Naval Mines.
Remember:
An Escort unit can only perform 1 mission in each turn.Important:
An Escort unit can be part of a Convoy - and sweep or lay Naval Mines in the same turn. -
@The-Captain said in Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion:
The only Army Group that can make a Blitz move is an Army Group that consists of 2 Panzer Armies / Tank Armies and 10 Panzer (Tank) units.
Hi Captain I have another question to ask but saw this one again.
If The AG had 5 Panzers and 5 Mechs they could blitz as well ?Sorry if I already asked :) Do Elite Inf get to roll at 3 for 1st Rd of Battle in Home Defense ?
-
An Army Group that has 5 Tank units and 5 Mechanized Infantry units can make a Blitz move during the Combat Movement phase.
This game mechanism is OOB rules since a Mechanized Infantry unit can make a Blitz move when it moves together with a Tank unit.
Concerning Home Defense:
For both United Kingdom and Japan; an Elite Infantry unit defends at “3” during the first round of Combat using two dice. -
Hi @The-Captain
Pretty sure I’ve asked this too :) can Paratroopers be Rail transported ? I’m thinking no, they got the plane too right :) and don’t see anywhere that says they can but just wanna double check.
Thanks
-
Concerning Paratrooper units:
A Paratrooper unit is a land based unit.
Paratrooper units operate under Infantry rules with a few exceptions (see more detalils at pg. 18 in the rulebook).
For transport purposes during Non-Combat Movement a Paratrooper unit counts as a Tank unit towards the capacity of a Transport unit (by sea) or an Air Transport unit.
Only Germany has the capacity to transport a Paratrooper unit by Air Transport.
A Paratrooper unit can also move 2 spaces by air by itself - either during Combat Movement or Non-Combat Movement.
Paratrooper units can also be transported by Strategic Rail Movement since a Paratrooper units is a land based unit.
-
@The-Captain German and UK Aircraft Carrier Fighters can’t operate on land correct ? There the same as the Pacific Naval Ftrs basically ?
They operate as any other Aircraft Carrier Based
Fighter and can be used in any Theatre of
Operations that the German player wishes. -
Aircraft Carrier Based Fighter units operate under Fighter unit rules with a few exceptions:
-
Carrier Based Fighters must land on an Aircraft Carrier. They cannot land on a territory/island (unless there the Aircraft Carrier is destroyed in combat).
-
US and Japanese Carrier Based Fighters can only operate in the Pacific Theatre & Indian Ocean - German and UK Carrier Based Fighters can operate in any Theatre of Operations.
Carrier Based Fighters can attack on land in the same way as any other Fighter unit - as long as they take off from an Aircraft Carrier.
See more details in the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion rulebook pg. 31 & 32.

@The-Captain when Trprts gain the ability to Defend at 1, do they now also, Force Naval Battles and Block SZs ?
Or do they still behave the same as OOB allowing them to be ignored ?
Thanks
-
Transport units operate according to the OOB 1940 2E rulebook - with a few exceptions:
- From Late 1941 a Transport unit defends at “1”
- From Late 1941 up to 2 Transport units can be part of a Convoy.
Defending Transport units that are alone or together with other defending Transport units can be ignored during an enemy amphibious landing.
Transport units do not block enemy naval movement - not even when they have a defense factor at “1” from Late 1941.
See pg. 29 & 30 for further details.
-
@The-Captain Thank you If by themselves they can be ignored
-
Yes, they can be ignored.

@The-Captain Hi Captain
Have you Guys tried activating the Volkssturm when Germany ends it’s turn with the russians adjacent to it, even if it has more than 21 IPC income ?When Italy has been taken over, I don’t see them, Volkssturm, happening.
Cool rule, but, Idk, doesn’t seem like it’d get used after the reich takes Italy. Obviously, things dire for the Deutsche by then anyways but … :)
I wonder if a time frame victory, with points for Major, Medium, Minor Victories depending on the date, would be worth exploring.
Obviously not a novel idea :) just wondering if your Gruppe tried it or not.
-
The German Volkssturm units have been activated during a few games only.
Usually, when Germany is fighting for its life at the end of the War, the activation of Volkssturm units is the last desperate attempt to avoid Total Defeat.
We will look through our foto archives during this gaming season and post some Game Report pictures from a scenario where the German Volkssturm units are acticaved.

@The-Captain Hi Captain
Can a Corps be formed with a TG ? I have 1 commisar, 2 Paratroopers and 1 TG. It seems they probably can as it says “Tank units” in the rulebook.
Just want to double check so I’m not giving out incorrect information :)
-
A Soviet Army Corps is commanded by a Soviet Commissar unit.
Besides a Soviet Commissar unit, a Soviet Army Corps can include the following units:
- Infantry
- Mechanized Infantry
- Guard Infantry
- Artillery
- Tank
A Soviet Tank General unit cannot be part of a Soviet Army Corps since the Tank General unit is not a Tank unit - a Tank General unit only operates under Tank unit rules.
See more details at pg. 45 + 46.
-
Right on. I’ll update the post and make a Note in Game Notes in case anyone is confused as i was.
The Tank units part is what confused me.
