Markdown
Markdown is a notation that allows you to format your text without html tags. It’s meant to be fast to use and readable even if formatting is not enabled. It’s fairly ubiquitous on the internet these days but you may not know all the features.
This Markdown Reference is also accessible when you write a post.
One thing missing from the reference is that you can have smaller than just the 2 headers. For example:
# Header 1 ## Header 2 ### Header 3 #### Header 4 ##### Header 5
Header 1
Header 2
Header 3
Header 4
Header 5
-
Tables
As mentioned in another thread, you can create tables with Markdown.
This …
| Default | Centered | Right Aligned | |---|:---:|---:| | one | two | 3 | | four | five | 6 |
Makes this:
Default Centered Right Aligned one two 3 four five 6 Or you can use a Markdown Table Generator.

The upper right hand corner has your profile icon. Click on that and it’ll take you to settings where you can customize how things look and act.

Filter Categories (All the time)
Tired of all the game threads in your “Unread”-View?
This is how to ignore them (click the image to watch the animation):
This setting ignores all threads in the Play Boardgames section including those of the subcategories for the “Unread”-View. In case you want to see for example only the “Team Games” there, just move to this sub-category and reset to “Watching”.
You can go to any category and/or subcategory you want to exclude from or enable to your “Unread”-View and repeat the procedure accordingly.
So set “Ignoring” on a Category level:
or set “Ignoring” on a Topics level:
In this context, these checkboxes to be found in the “Settings” are relevant, too:
This allows for effectively filtering what is part of the Unread-List.

Now klick on “Edit Profile”.

Don’t forget to
Note: When choosing too many badges you may run into a display-bug (caused by the forum software). The posting suddenly may look like this:
In this case please remove (deselect using the above mentioned procedure) some of your badges, until the text appears as normal. Thank you!

Upload a File
You want to manually upload a file, for example a savegame?
This is how you do it (click the image to view the animation):
Don’t forget to klick the “Submit”-Button once your file has been uploaded.

Changing Names
There may be reasons (for example https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/32495/new-triplea-with-new-forums-user-does-not-exist-error) why you need to change your username.
For this it is important to know the concept of names on the forum.
When you are on a user’s profile you see for example something like this:
Now the first name shown is what the forum calls “Full Name”,
the second name shown behind the @ -symbol is the “Username”.Both names might be identical, they might be different, too.
It is important to know that the “Full Name” is more or less cosmetics, when different from the “Username”.
The “Full Name” is not your log-in name, it is not your name for TripleA-games, you can not be @ -mentioned by your “Full Name” (when different).
You can change your “Full Name” to whatever (even your real name) without any consequences for your log-in or TripleA.
It can be changed, when you go to “Edit Profile”:
So in order to change your login-name, your TripleA-games name and the name you can be @- mentioned with, you need to change your “Username”:
Klick “Change Username” and edit it:
Important: Avoid to use periods, spaces or other special characters in your username as this might cause problems.
