ok, will be more careful from now. You can of course edit UK to the original buy. Remove TT in 110 and add mech in SA and inf in UK.

Oh, just saw your second post right now.

    GG, this one was challenging.

Regarding your question before. I guess the key factors were:

    • Too much fleet with Germany, too little pressure on Russia and not enough gain by the fleet as I did hold Gib and you could not keep the Allies out by controlling Gibraltar
    • The blunder to allow me to attack the fleet. although the battle went very bad to me, the bad result was still better than not having the option to get this attack
    • Too greedy with Japan to control as many Chinese territories as possible, these units should try to take India instead. Also not enough dedication to get India despite 3 active ICs. You should not have allowed me to take the Kwangtung FIC, those units plus the missing production would have been essential to make a push on India
    • Too much fleet with Japan and always 1-2 transports short to retake relevant islands. You should also consider to buy 1-2 marines with Japan
    • You did not try hard enough to stack Iraq with Italy. The Syria thing was nice but you need to try to break thought Iraq. You e.g. could have brought Japanese planes in position to support a full IT push to Iraq, my odds were always shaky, just 1 German and 1-2 Japanese figs and I do not have an attack and from there you start penetrating me and it will hurt. Alternatively, simply try to buy a 4th transport or further marines
    • A bunch of little details. 2 example. Imo an AA at shan state is a valuable unit that should not be given for free (1/6 against air) but be protected by 1-2 land units, especially as I had no fast units at this moment
    • No need to move all 27 fast units to Finland and thus release too much pressure off Russia
    • Too many risks for the Luftwaffe. Although the battle in 91 went extremely well for you it was still a Pyrrhus victory as Germans need the air against Russia

Last thing: Next time, you make a risky attack with the Luftwaffe against an Allied fleet you should definitely throw Italian planes in first-1-2 hits entirely change the odds of those important battles

I hope this helps on the high level. in order to maximize such an analysis I would need to be on a call with you and go through the game turn by turn.

    Best regards,
    Tobias

p.s.: Sorry again about the dice excessive whining, I certainly know that I exaggerated.  In total this game was certainly in my top 3 of the most unfortunate dice for me. I am totally aware that after I stopped whining I had some very nice defense dice here and there and in the end most of the US turns went very well. However, early dice count the most and that was really extreme. next to the big battles and dynamic in Asia with invincible Japanese troops. In the end I made peace with the dice but the Amur battle felt like a reminder that this is not my dice game :-)
The reason I could overcome these dice was that they happend in the big battles that should not have been fought at all. So the dice did not put the Axis into a huge advantage but rather did not end the game immediately.

  • @MrRoboto:

I’m usually really lenient with edits (as you obviously noticed), but in my opinion you are going overboard with them. I just ask that you do a bigger effort avoiding them in this excess.

    it’s the beers  :-P
