2fighters take off from a carrier to do comabt in a sea zone 3 moves away. Tere are no friendly land zones in range of the fighters. It is declared that the carrier from which the fighters took off from will move two spots up and then be in range so the fighters can fly one spot back and land on the carrier.
The question is if the fighters do not survive the comabt does the carrier have to move to the declared sea zone the the fighter were going to land in or can it stay put or move in a different direction?

The carrier does not need to move in combat so can reserve its commitment to move to land the fighters until non combat.
If the fighters are both dead then that commitment is no longer required, allowing the carrier can go elsewhere in non-combat.
