~~I Will Never Grow Up Gaming’s Industrial Production Chips are currently OUT OF STOCK

Sales came in fast and furious since the holidays in December and we scrambled to get out all of the sets we could!

With the state of the Canadian Dollar vs the US Dollar, combined with the upcoming Chinese New Year (where every factory in China seems to go on holiday for a few weeks), we are out of stock and in a holding pattern. Purchasing more at this point (70 cents on the dollar +/-) would end up costing us more than we can afford.

Hopefully the Canadian dollar will rise a little more before the end of February (it DID go up today … /fingerscrossed) at which point we will be able to consider placing a re-order for more chips.
If this happens, we should have them back in stock for the end of March or early April!

Thank you so much to everyone who has so far purchased this product! We appreciate every single sale and hope you are enjoying them as much as we do!

    Thank you,~~ James Campbell

  • Given the current state of the Canadian dollar, it might actually be cheaper to use real Canadian money as A&A IPCs rather than play money or play tokens.  :D  The British comedy group The Two Ronnies once told a joke along those lines, back when the British pound was a banknote rather than a coin: “The value of the pound has fallen so much that it is literally no longer worth the paper it’s printed on.  As a matter of fact: if you take an old one-pound note to a used paper dealer, he’ll give you two pounds for it.”

Thanks for the update, glad to here they’re selling and I hope they remain popular with A&A tables in the future. As for the Canadian dollar, I buy, sell, and earn all in Canadian currency, so it hasn’t effected my yet… at least our new Prime Minister is handsome, right?

Lol. Yeah well … he needs to turn his good looks into a better dollar value!

We sell and earn in Canadian dollars ourselves but ALL of our suppliers work in USD so it’s a double hit for us.
The good news is the dollar has gone back over 70 cents US this week. I have high hopes it will hit 75 again and we can do a re-order (the hit we would take under 75 cents US/$1 CAD is just too much to bear!)

The other good news is work is coming along nicely on our 3 new games we’re working on. And we have 2 others on the backburner waiting their turn!

    • Into the Black: A Game of Space Piracy (cooperative board game for 1-4 players)
    • Conflict and Chaos: Vietnam 1965 (strategy game for 2-6 players based on the Vietnam Conflict)
    • TechMage Science Fantasy RPG

Hah. Very close to cheaper to use real Looneys and Twoonies for sure. Hmm … maybe that’ll be our next sets!!!  :D

When people look at our chips and say “Those are expensive!” ($50 Canadian for 50 chips) I just have to realize they have never ordered custom, quality poker chips before. $1 a poker chip (Canadian) = about $0.70 each US right now and that’s cheap (unless you’re talking about generic, Wal-Mart style super-mass-produced blandness).

Canadian coins might be cheaper than your casino-style IPC tokens, but they’re not as stylish and they don’t have the same handy range of denominations – so your product will always have that advantage over loonies and twonies, no matter how badly Canada’s, um, looney-tune economy is doing.

There was talk a while ago about a $5 coin, that would make for some easy poker games up here.

Why spend $7 when you can get monopoly money at the dollar store for $2?.

  • '17 '16

Because Monopoly money doesn’t have a WWII theme printed on them… kinda the same thing when I ask why don’t you just use some of those little square armies from Risk for your infantry instead of molded soldiers… I’m sure it would be cheaper. Sometimes, when making up a custom set, you’d like a certain “look”.

$7 isn’t that bad… i’ll make a sandwich today for lunch instead of getting a happy meal… there… now I can afford Battle Bucks.

If I wanted to save dough that badly, I’d just use a few thousand Canadian dollars as game money… I think that’s worth about one or two American dollars.

This ain’t the first time you’ve tried to pick a fight with members on this forum is it?, if you’re not arguing with Hoffman about his taste in movies, or slamming IWNGU for the price point on his chips, than you’re insulting the currency value of my home country. What you don’t realize is that there are some really fantastic people here sharing a common interest and building solid friendships… and what are you doing?

  • '17 '16

Oh please… people were joking about Canadian currency earlier (and it wasn’t me), I didn’t know currency value is a personal insult.  Speaking of personal insults, you might want to take another look at who is actually making personal insults and who isn’t.  I’m not the one saying people are having breakdowns rages of fit or look like monkeys… you might want to reconsider what an insult is.  You got people talking about international jewry conspiracies, other people calling people monkeys and i’m the guy picking fights?

If I offended you about the value of Canadian currency (which was merely a repeat of what someone else on the forum joked about, without him being accused of picking fights), I apologize.

No need to apologize if it’s conditional whether or not I was offended, I wasn’t. Your comments did not effect me, and I’m not concerned with stand alone insults as much as I am about patterns that resemble trolling.

Gotta love the one-way name calling while they pretend to be righteous.  Neither of you even know what a troll is.  Whatever…

When you guys are done name calling, and want to talk about Axis and Allies, let me know.

Trolling is just a universal term for a type of behaviour exhibited online… and my ability to talk about Axis and Allies is not in question.
