Any land assault from a sea zone with neutral ships in same sea zone gets to defend against the attacking navy. Then you can attack Oslo from sea if trannys survive.
If you attack Oslo you want to attack from Finland and with German airborne [also fort doesnt get to defend] so when you capture Oslo the neutral ships are rolled for and become scuttle or UK or German ships.
WW1 French Merchant ship
-
We need help in finding reference information on WW1 French Merchant ships.
Line drawings would be a big benefit!!!
We want a merchant ship NOT a Troop transport ship that resembles a ocean liner.
Please either post them here or send them to info@historicalboardgaming.com
Thank you for your help! -
I spent hours on this this morning Coach. I found lots of names of French cargo/merchant ships from WWI but no good pictures. Here’s a good start for you:
http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/lines/french.shtml
http://www.teesbuiltships.co.uk/rayltondixon/aalist.htm
You are probably going to end up having to use a representative example of a WWI cargo ship instead of a named sculpt.
For example:
http://museum.gov.ns.ca/mma/wrecks/wrecks/shipwrecks.asp?ID=3416
Type “typical cargo vessel ww1” under google images and be prepared to spend hours and hours.

A good recent reference work on the French merchant fleet in WWI appears to be “La Marine marchande française 1914-1918” by Marc Saibène (2011, 190 pages, Marines Editions, ISBN 978-2357430761). If you go here…
http://www.marines-editions.fr/la-marine-marchande-francaise-1914-1918-saibene-marc-,fr,4,30761.cfm
…and click on “Pour feuilleter quelques pages, cliquer ici”, you’ll see a few sample pages. The sample includes a picture of a general-purpose freighter called the Anatolie (which I’ve copied below). It was thirty years old when the war broke out, but it was rugged and adaptable ship which worked so well that the company kept it in service until 1927. It was requisitioned for military service from August 1915 to July 1917, one of its functions being to transport troops.
