Also, here are two pictures I took last night to supplement the ones VanGal provided a few weeks ago in his thread. I may have to post them separately if the file size is too large.

An odd thing about the infantryman: when I looked under the base to see what two-letter abbreviation they gave ANZAC, I saw that the underside had no stamping on it.  No abbreviation, no numbers (whose purpose I’ve never understood anyway) and no “Made in China.”  The troop pieces for the other countries have their usual stamping on them, so this situation is limited to ANZAC.

Wow, thanks a lot for these pictures CWO Marc!  :-) I for one am curious to see a pic of the new Anzac infantryman compared next to the other infantry pieces. Any chance of that please?

Who knows? £65. Desperately wanted Europe for the sculpts. Oh well.

The website is showing the new Pac40.2 selling for £64.29 delivered. I must say, that isn’t bad at all. Couldn’t find Eur40.2 on there yet though…

I paid 90 pence to have it delivered 1st Class. I was surprised it was only £64.
Will have to get both now!

I hate to come across as a complainer, but ANZAC’s infantry is freakishly big. Especially next to china. Wizards has no concept of quality control.

They are scarily large! Pity.

The ANZAC dude on the far right seems slightly shorter, but not by much. Are they ALL like this?

Also, the base for the ANZAC Inf looks bigger than the standard base, how does this look on a chip?

CWO Marc, thank you very much for posting the pics and I’m glad I asked! Man, that ANZAC Infantry piece looks like Andre the Giant with a rifle… Talk about the thunder from down under, these guys are gonna be pretty intimidating!  :-)

I think I will have to try and trim their bases with a sharp knife!

Wonder if the commission to make them was given to an Aussie company and they thought they would take advantage and make their sculpts the scariest!

The size difference between the two ANZAC sculpts in the picture is just an illusion.  My camera probably wasn’t precisely centered and precisely level when I took the shot, so the two ends of the lineup didn’t come out quite equal.  Also, the camera model I have isn’t really designed for close-up work, so there may be a bit of lens distortion involved too.  I haven’t compared the size of the ANZAC base to the base of the other pieces, nor placed it on a chip yet, so I can’t answer the second question; the main thing that struck me about it was the lack of stamping underneath.

You’re welcome.  I hadn’t really noticed how big the ANZAC infantryman was until I placed it next to one of the other pieces, so it took me by surprise too.  Perhaps in Australia and New Zealand kids listen to their mother when she tells them to drink their glass of milk so tha they’ll grow up to be tall and strong.
