I have had a 3D printer hobbyist CAD design a new BB playing piece and a new DD playing piece.
The BB is based on the WW1 UK Iron Duke modified for appearance. It is, certainly, better looking than the original BB design. Additionally, I (we) used a depiction of a WW1 US 4 stacker DD to make a modified DD playing piece for A&A WW1. The rationale that the Sub replaces the need for a DD just doesn’t ‘cut it’ (make sense). Most of the colour filaments used to 3D print these units are a good match to the original playing piece colours. I will post pictures of these as I have assistance doing so.

Is it necessary to wash the figures first?

I have no idea. I havent done it, but i dont know if its wise or not. Either its fine, or ill pay for it later… i hope for the first one :)

A basic Alcohol solution would be good to clean any oils or other residues off the pieces. As long as you give them time to allow them to dry and evaporate then it wouldn’t hurt. Not that I’d think it’s all that necessary unless you’ve been playing with them for a long time drinking, spilling, smoking, and god knows what else!

I bought A&A 1941 so i could get my hands on these cool bastards!
12 new P-40 to the US army!

I happen to think the game is fun… but you can always just get a handful of P-40’s from Coach at HBG.

Oh yeah… thanks for the reminder Variable! (I don’t doubt the game is fun, but it’s a time thing - already have sooo many games that haven’t even been on the table yet…)

Here are some Japanese Units I’ve done. The Japanese Transport is a modified Bomber from the original A&A. The the Inf. unit is from Revell and the Green Zero is from Pico Armor.

Hungry or Romania anyone? Unfortunalty the Camera shows too much detail. The units could use some touch up. The Armor are from HBG and the Fighters are OOB. Again, I enjoy using the Decals for a nice finishing touch.

Very nice work! Looks awesome! Very detailed and sharp lines. Decals really make the pieces look like models instead of just pieces, which is nice. I would like to use decals myself, but i dont know where to get them XD and now its too late :(

I want to see more pics!

Wow! Pure awesome Johnson! Did you use enamel or a gloss coat? Turned out nice - the gloss blends out the decal lines which is a bonus.

Swedo,
The decals I suggest you use are from I-94 Enterprises. They have a very wide selection,…and you can preview the decal sheets by looking at the “scans” section. I love how they make my units look.

WAFFEN SS. Again, I hate my camera. It shows too much. Looks like my Infantry unit needs some touched up. The Tiger and Mech is OOB. Infantry I beleive is Revell.

Been painting some of my new 1941 units, here are some of the new units joining their armies/navies.
UK with Hood, their new transports and submarines replacing their old ones, so that they now have unique pieces on the board.
Japanese Kogo class BB with their new submarines replacing their old uglier ones. I also painted the japanese FWs into Nakajima ki-43.
German tigers with their new Focke-Wulf Fw 190
