Anyone know if Der Kuenstler is okay? His YouTube channel has disappeared. I really enjoyed his videos.

RE: France's role in Global 1940 SE
I find it amazing that there has been this much discussion on France “having a role” in this game. So much so that I logged in and made a post for the first time in roughly 365 days. I love it and think it is hilarious!

RE: Seeking advice on applying paint correctly and well
@trenacker
You can use Super Clean degreaser to remove paint from messed up paint jobs. You can buy this at any auto parts store. It comes in a purple container. Just put them in a jar, shake it up a little, and let it sit overnight. Works amazingly well. -
RE: Seeking advice on applying paint correctly and well
@Trenacker
Low humidity is key. Also, some of the paints the GI Joe uses are easier to work with than others. But they are all workable. Another key is to prime the pieces with the gray primer. This helps the paint adhere better. Practice makes perfect. Use the Super Clean degreaser when you make a booboo. -
RE: Global 1942 Scenario by Larry Harris
With Germany in Global 42 this is what I like to do. Turn one you need to purchase an aircraft carrier. This allows you to attack the UK battleship and transport on turn one with the two planes from western Germany, 2 subs and a cruiser. I also buy an airbase on turn one. This goes on Greece. On combat movement take the infantry and tank from southern Europe to cypress to deny the UK national objective. Make sure to land 3 German fighters or tactical bombers on Greece to defend the two German boats. The airbase and fighters make it hard for the UK to hone in on any of the German or Italian boats. In this version I use Germany to get Italy kick started in the Mediterranean. Regarding Russia for the first few turns I try and use dead zones and reposition/consolidate my forces.

Airfix Infantry 1/72
I’m curious as to how many people use Airfix/Italerie/Revell/etc 1/72 infantry units in their games. I used to be against this preferring the OOB units, but I have spent a small fortune over the last week buying different sets on eBay to add “spice” to the game. Bottom line is I’m having fun researching the sets and also learning more WW2 history as I go. It’s amazing the detail some of these infantry pieces have! Has anyone else been bit by this bug?

RE: France's role in Global 1940 SE
@FranceNeedsMorePower Great job on the video, I watched the whole thing. One rule I realized I have been playing wrong for years is in Europe when Germany/Italy takes over Normandy/Southern France. I didn’t know that if USA or UK liberated Normandy or Southern France that they would collect those IPCs until France itself is liberated. We have our yearly game coming up at end of the month and we will make this adjustment. Again, nicely done on the video.

Nation specific chips
I noticed in a YouTube video today from hilltop pillbox that the board they were playing on had nation specific chips. Green for USA, yellow for UK, gray for Germany, red for Russia, etc.
Does this help in any way? Does it make each nation’s forces easier to see on the board? Does it keep someone from accidentally “cheating” when doing a random chip out?

@FranceNeedsMorePower That sounds great. I love watching Axis & Allies content, it really relaxes me to be honest. General Hand Grenade has some great videos out that I consider to be “classics”. Floating Bridge, Middle Earth, ANZAC, China, etc. Good luck on your video and let us know when it is published, I am sure you will get a decent number of views.

RE: France's role in Global 1940 SE
@FranceNeedsMorePower I have never seen an Axis & Allies 1940 Global France Strategy youtube video. Every other playable power/country in the game has one, even China. Maybe you should make one? Topics could be: 1. What to do with that French Fighter? (much like the Flying Tigers for China), 2. The mighty French Navy and how best to utilize it, and 3. “Consolidation of Defensive Strength - Determine the area of battle” in regard to North African French forces (this ties in to element #7 of AndrewAAGamer’s Warfare Principles.

Sub rule
Global 1942 Larry Harris setup has a Japanese submarine starting in seazone 49 with a variety of USA boats, including a destroyer. On Japan’s first turn, can the sub leave that seazone or is it required to immediately fight due to the presence of the destroyer?
Thanks

Convoy Dice
Has anyone ever made a small set of convoy dice? A “1”, “2”, “3”, and blanks for 4,5,6. Let me know if you know of anyone that sells this or any ideas to make my own.

@taamvan
We always play the the Larry Harris 1942 setup. I notice here that it shows an update from Greg Smorey and Kevin Chapman. Looks like one extra uboat and one extra German tank in Libya. Is this setup approved by Larry Harris?
