• Heard this NBA question the other day, thought it was good. Would the post baseball Jordan’s Bulls had won the last two championships without Dennis Rodman?

Dennis Rodman is up for the Basketball HOF and we all know he has no chance what so ever. But, no doubt he was one of the best rebounders of his era, if not the best.

    Your thoughts?

  • But they won 3 championships before Rodman… they just did it with other forms of talent.

And they didn’t win anything before Jackson was coach. Kukoc was decent addition, and others like Paxson, Purdue, and Harper were good additions. Id say yes for the most part.

Horace Grant, Pippen and others were good rebounders too. Heck after 1991 Jordan always had a supporting cast good enough for any run, before in the 1980’s it was just Jordan getting 35+ points and a bunch of retreads patched from other teams leftovers. They even had Artis Gilmore who was in his twilight seasons, and old timers like James Edwards leftover from 1980-1 Piston Championships. Not unlike Chicago right now.

  • Chicago didn’t win anything without Jordan either.  Say what you will about the difficulties in guarding Kobe or LeBron or DWade, Jordan was truly unstoppable.  In fact, had Jordan not retired for two years I think they would have won those years as well.

    Very True.

  • Dirk went wild last night. My concerns are can Dallas keep that scoring pace up in the series? And can Dallas slow Kevin Durant down? They can not stop him, just limit him to 25 points.

It should be a great series. I see Dallas winning, history is with Dallas- veteran teams usally beat teams new to the playoffs.

  • I hope Dallas wins. This is probably Dirks last shot.

I remember being a Mavericks fan back when they had Rolando Blackman, Dantley, Tarpley, Mark Aguirre, and Derrick Harper back in 1986’ish that was a great team too. I remember somebody got hurt and the team was not the same in the playoffs.

The Spurs-Grizzlies series was not that long ago.

  • See i told you people Miami.

I predict Miami wins game 1 and 2. Dallas wins 3, Miami wins game 4 and 5 or loses game 5 and wins game 6.

    Lebron MVP of finals

If Dallas can get production from Marion this series will be very close.

  • Well Lebron and Novitzki …wash on stats

Dallas has Dampier and other Centers by committee vs. Bosh… Miami wins that.

Then Dallas has two guards to run the floor: Barea and the old man Jason Kidd… vs. Wade wins that

The scrubs that fill out the team, id give an edge to Dallas, but Haslem was part of the 2006 team and he has experience.

So Miami has better starters, but Dallas has better bench. If they keep the big 3 on the floor for extended minutes and their is no need to ‘save their strength’ for another series, i feel Miami has the overall edge

Dallas has a better coach. I’m not a fan of Miami’s coach because he has some strange substitution patterns, like leaving Bosh alone for long stretches with the scrubs, when he really needs 2 out of 3 of the stars on the floor at all times.

Mavs got rid of Dampier and replaced him with Tyson Chandler and Brendon Haywood.

Had I a hundred dollars to bet on the series winner I would pick Miami. But this Dallas team has surprised me this year. They will play with the knowledge that their last chance is now. The ghost of 2006 can get buried.

    Dampier is playing for Heat.

  • This is turning into a great Finals.

  • The winner of game 5 should go on to win it.

    Completely agree with you.

Dallas can not win two in Miami.

Miami may collapse with internal strife if they go down 3-2.

  • Dallas can win this series!

  • yes its theirs to lose.
