Starting to Paint my Special Units that each Nation has. Here are a few. Will add more later.
sweet,i have about 1000,us german and russians 1/72 figs painted from years ago,what will you use them for,is their rules for them???

Im interested in hearing your ideas for RULES for these units.
I had a Volkstrum rule idea (As Japan has Kamikaze). They were 1 IPC / Can not leave GERMANY Proper, Defend at 1, can not attack. Also do not count against IC production total.
Allows Germany to “Hold Out” A little longer…
Volkstrum units were just like normal troops, except they were made up of what they termed “rear area swine” basically people who were behind the lines and had desk jobs, or former workers who had their factory destroyed, retirees, etc.
Id rate the experience with a -1 on defense.
They should be 1-1-1 units and raised in victory cities at the rate of 1 per two controlled VC or 1 per VC. They are first raised the moment where the allies enter or attack by land original German controlled areas.
They should not be eligible for airborne units.
The Soviets could have their conscripts too using the same rules.
Our house rules are based off of 12 sided dice with a custom map.
Germany may not begin building Volkstrum til Turn Game 5 and may only have 6 in play at once.

As far as leaving Germany proper, that is one we should add. However, in our games the Volkstrum are usually defending Normandy from invasion

Their is no difference from normal infantry, so why bother? What special abilities does it have?
perhaps you meant cost 2?
Have “green” and veteran troops, with the painted units as vets. A green unit is only 1-1 until it participates in a winning combat, after which it is converted to vet 1-2 status.
Maybe do something similar for tanks and fighters.

Good. then for the same money i will never buy them and instead just buy infantry for 3 IPC. Thanks.
Our Infantry are 5 ipc each. We play on a customized map so we don’t have the same prices as you might have.
