    @Cmdr:

    For the record, I burned one of my copies of the rulebook last night in the fireplace. (Needed to make sure it was working for Christmas.)  Now, maybe, Gamerman will stop telling me to go read it! :P  (Yes I did it out of spite, no this does not mean I dont have rules, I have like 5 copies of the game, 2 opened so I have a rule book, I can just honestly say it’s in a different building than I am now - cause it’s at work.)

    If that were a 100 page hardcover A&A players handbook from WOTC, complete with world atlas, 4 page profiles for each unit, many colored battle diagrams, and a 1 hour DVD instrutional video, it would have burned all month (just sayin).

    You’re not imaginative enough.  My husband works in supply for the Navy and can get some really fun stuff - he’d get thrown in Jail if he did, but how does this effect me?

    If I get moved off the naughty list, can I ask him for a Nucular Submarine for Christmas?

    Pretty sure you can get one from the Soviet military for like, a few hundred thousand rubles.

    @gsh34:

    Krieghund,

    I know you and Larry are working on the rules for the 2nd print run of the game.  I ask that you specifically put in the rules the example you just outlined:  What happens when Japan attacks a neutral Mongolian territory and Soviet territory bordering Mongolia in the same turn.  I had that same question and everyone I have talked to who hadn’t read your post first had it too.  Just a suggestion since Mongolia has some special rules attached to it and we were not at all certain when the Mongolian specific rules trumped the neutrals in general and vice-versa.

    Thank you.

    We’re making some adjustments as we write the final version of the rules.  It should be clear.

    Is there a ball park figure, or even a football field figure on when that might get published, or released on Larry’s site?

    Could you release it like a month before sending it to printing so if there’s a bone headed rule (ie AAR:  Germany gets LRA on Round 1, England is gone and allies lose almost automatically causing the creation of LHTR’s rule that makes Technology take effect at the end of your turn) could hopefully be found before it’s mailed to players all over the world? smile  Not saying there will at this date, but there’s always a potential of catastrophy even if you play test the game (Ahem, AAR for example.)

    If the Pacific allies attack Japan during turn 1, will Japan still receive their $10 trade NO with the States?

  • @Young:

    If the Pacific allies attack Japan during turn 1, will Japan still receive their $10 trade NO with the States?

    Maybe I don’t understand the question but this seems like a Yes…

    Unless Japan attacks UK/ANZAC or Dutch Colonies or the US or attacks FIC, they’ll collect the 10 IPCs.

    If on turns in the first round, the UK or ANZAC declare war on Japan (this would be unprovoked), and Japan does not attack FIC or declares war on the US, then Japan will collect the 10 IPC trade until J3, or the US enters the war, whichever comes first.

    As soon as the US enters the war, it’s no longer collected.
    As soon as Japan attacks FIC it’s no longer collected
    As soon as Japan makes an unprovoked attack on Japan, it’s no longer collected.  But if Anzac/UK strike first, Japan will only make a provoked attack and this requirement no longer affects the objective.

    Thanks…… here’s another one, I think I’m right, but I wanna make sure.

    If Japan is not at war with the Pacific allies, can they move their fleet into sea zone #39 during the non combat phase, even if there are British ships there. And if we do share a sea zone and the UK wants to declare war, their ships will either have to fight or leave, right.

    Yes, they can occupy the same seazone as a power they are not at war with and everything is hunky dory.

    And yes, if the UK declares war, they will be forced to fight in that seazone, or leave.  However, on the turn they declare war, they can still load transports in that seazone (an exception to the no load in hostile zone rule)

    Sorry, but it’s true that sometimes the game testers have a big blindspot that gamers will find (probably because we out number then 30:1 or worse) and rules like that have the tendancy to make the game look really bad.

    Hey Krieghund, thanks for the update on the rulebook. Speak of which - Larry has been a bit quiet recently… everything okay?

    Dimes to dollars, he’s making a new game and does not want to be bothered with this one anymore.  The community has been pretty harsh on him on this game and I don’t think he expected so much blow back. (3 full ruleset revisions with major changes (Alphas) + each alpha needing at least a dozen minor tweaks.)

  • If I have a transport and want to move through a sz with an enemy sub on my way to do an amph. assault a couple sea zones away, in alpha 3 is this still possible?

    My understanding is the sub no longer gets a dice roll at my tranny, and my tranny can’t amph assault in that same sea zone as the sub, but I assume my tranny can make an amph. assault in another sea zone after passing through the one with the sub?

    Your understanding is correct.

    More like 99%.
