What new rules? What were the old rules? Are these rules state wide?

The Supreme Court ruled that a Chicago law prohibiting citizens from owning handguns was unconstitutional. The vote was along party lines. The mayor has decided to rewrite the law.

Probably a lot more detail out there than what I have heard on the news.

It’s not overturned just yet, but most likely will be.  However there will be strict rules concerning owning a gun in Chicago.  Probably a lot like DC that went through the same thing recently.

Oh yes and THAT turned out great didnt it? DC has the highest crime rate in the NATION!

Citizens should have the right to protect themselves, within reason, without the government interfering.

Once you take the guns away from the common man the only people that have them are the police and the criminals.

Not really since most criminals get guns by stealing or borrowing them from the common man
