IL-2 is great. This can be a special divebomber type. That should be the fighter
we have a Yak from the original game and from the new AA42
we also have the pe-8 bomberso for the bomber choice use the IL-4

What I think Wild Bill is saying is, is it possible to have this thread (sticky) in all the different AA forum (Revised, Europe, Pacifc, AA50, etc, etc, etc, just in case people don’t visit variant page, I happen to see it when FMG first posted it a while ago so I was lucky to find it as I normally stick to the regular AA forum pages.
I know this topic does not belong in those pages but it could since it’s supposed to replace or add new pieces and would be applicable to all AA games?
I would expect the variant pages to be more for hardcore players but I would think that even the casual AA player would like new pieces.
Just my two cents.

we cant do that. Anything relating to new concepts and games must be regulated to only house and variant sections.
The only thing we can do is have the administrator post a new article on the new FMG pieces ONCE they have some pictures and also add the bit about “hey come and visit this section and help us get the rules on these new pieces”
We will support this product because it deserves it.

Understandable. Would you know if this is posted on other forums? I know Questioneer has the AA50 reprint petition at Larry Harris’ forum and AH forum. Maybe this is the way to go for FMG? Just a thought.

Right, if they want legal issues with Hasbro, then posting at AH forum is the way to go.

They wont let you post products for FMG on the Ah forums. Chimps don’t like that. Try Boardgamegeek instead. Larry wont let you do that either. You can try and see, but you will get chimps coming out of the woodwork once you pull that.

Let’s start with that so everyone here knows about the new piece project.

That sounds good IL. We just need to leak this project to the other parts of the forum with a link of some kind. Curiosity should take care of the rest. Maybe even a “MOVED TO”-would still leave a footprint (I know that would be sneaky and under handed but that’s considered good strategy in AA lol). Your right we should wait until we get pictures of the prototypes-more enthusiasm.

But seriously, im looking at ways to do some better photos of my pieces and once I get my FMG bits I will be painting them up, you can rest assured of that.

Project is going fine. All the sculpts are ready (except the Italian bomber) and I will be sending them to the factory THE SAME day AA42 lands on my desk! IL had suggested that we hold out until the new sculpts are released with this new game just so we can make sure there are no NEW surprises that would be a shame to miss in this very expensive new set.
In Aug I will have an update and release the list of Sculpts for each nation.

That is a very prudent decision to make. You can benefit to seeing how these new pieces turn out and if in poor shape, take advantage of the deficiencies and fill the void of uber quality pieces. IN the mean time Italy is more than fair game as well as the new types of units we all know will not be coming out in any AA game. Thats where you again fill this void.

WHAT IF??? There is a NEW unit we don’t know about? Just like when the Destroyer was added it became common in all games… I would hate to have a great set missing this piece. There could be a secret. It is already July and we have very little detail and no pictures of the new game!?!?!?!
If someone can tell me 100% certain… that there are NO SURPRISES in AA42… I will send the sculpts for ITALY tomorrow to start the process.
