Happy Christmas Friend.
Mmmm, ads
-
The General Discussion and the Political Discussion forums are now ad-a-licious. GD and PD grew organically but the people that post only in those forums might not be interested in Axis & Allies related ads.
So now you get a wide variety of ads to click.
-
Considering the amount of band width that many folks are using in PD/GD while also not being participants in the gaming areas… probably a pretty good idead to load PD/GD with ads so that some of thsoe folks do some clicking to help pay for their usage :-)
-
I’m actually a fan of these “inter-active ads”. A lot of cool little political sites to click on.
-
The ads are covering up the posts.
-
In certain thread views (looking at the listings, not at the posts in a thread), there’s an obvious link problem. There’s a gap where an ad should be, and farther down there’s a correctly placed ad in the midst of the thread listing.
-
Like jsp4563 said, the ads are covering up the posts, making them difficult to read… any way to remedy this?
-
I don’t have any problem with ads covering posts. What browser are you guys using?
-
I use Safari…
-
I have no problem with the ads either, and I’m on Firefox.
-
bunch of sellouts whoever did this. lower than trash, was it neccessary? no. swine, filth, contemptable human waste, you all suck just for a buck.
-
Using FIrefox also, and no problems.
-
First of all, the pennies of revenue goes toward the maintenance of this site. If you don’t like the ads, then go post in the Axis & Allies game forums. I did not put any ads in there at all, wel except the one at the top which was already everywhere.
Also, Safari doesn’t implement CSS correctly. I don’t have a mac, what am I supposed to do? Grr but I do have an idea.
-
I use IE 6, Microsoft’s browser is the most widely used but tends to have problems displaying webpages written while using another browser to view them. I had this problem all the time when I wrote webpages usinge Netscapes browser as the viewer. Webpages written to be viewed by IE almost never have a problem being viewed by other web browsers.

I removed his post because it was nothing more than Graffiti on a wall.

Oh, one solution is to stretch your window wider.
Meanwhile, I’m working on a better solution.

Please hurry, my monitor is old, and so are my eyes. A 1024x766 resoulution isn’t an option for my tiny little monitor.
How about disabling the ads until you get the kinks worked out?

Wow, okay, so you must be one of those 9% running at 800x600.
Well you’re in luck, the right-side add is to the right of the fold on 800x600.

Try going full screen with IE. I think it’s F11 by default. I don’t recall exactly because I stopped using IE a long time ago…
-
Firefox has full screen too.
