I think Japan still would have invaded the Soviet Union though, if the Second Sino-Japanese War continued (the oil embargo only really happened once they invaded Indochina).
Other than that I agree with you. That would be curious alternate reality.
Here are the results of the 2012 BBC country rating poll. Just check out the numbers 1 and 2.
Whats the rating of though? World influence?
Popularity. A global poll of some 24,000 people on how they view different countries around the world. I’m not sure it has any scientific merit, but the former Axis powers seem to be doing quite well here.
Interesting. Have you seen the email going around of how good Hiroshima looks now compared to US cities like Detroit? Reminds me of that.
Whats funny is, look at the top countries and then think to your selves how much the US has influenced those economies and such, But yet the USA is the bad guys right now
Well, the bad guys…. not really. It’s still 47 up, 33 down.

And look at the bottom.
Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, and Russia are enemies of the US.

What? No way! :-D
I don’t think the USA considers russia an enemy anymore.
Pakistan, is not an enemy, it’s just that the enemy resides in pakistan, and the Pakistani gov. can’t get rid of them. Last time I checked, we are not at war with Pakistan, but the Taliban that resides in Pakistan. The Taliban is not the Pakistani Military.
So USA comes in slightly worse than China? That’s pretty bad.
Not as bad as the Taliban having a more favorable rating than Congress!
Good to see I’ll be moving to the most favorable country in the world in October! ( I assume they didn’t ask those Whale Wars people).
France? I hated Paris…I actually enjoyed South Korea a lot more…they’re great people, I would just recommend not having your eyes open while in a taxi (buckling up would be a great idea too).
China builds lots of roads in poor countries. All the better to get access to the resources. The difference is, the US (and the rest of the west of course) tends to hand out money to get the same access. The leaders of these countries then spend much of it poorly and the rest ends up in Switzerland. The citizens of the poor countries at least see tangible benefits with the Chinese. For communists, they sure know how to do ‘business’.
I don’t think today’s China is communist tho’. I think they’re more capitalist than any western country.
Communism doesn’t exist…never has…what the USSR and Mao China were extreme socialist, but you can not have true communism…just like we are not a true capitalism society and haven’t been since Anti-Trust rulings in the early 1900s (and with the advent the Progressive movement and of the New Deal).

Very well said Mallery29
Why is Israel hated and barely above north Korea?? I have a very favorable opinion of Israel.
Probably doesn’t help that Isreal ignores treaties and the population builds wherever it wants, forcing the Palestinian further and further out, but I don’t want to get too much into that or we’ll be closed for business.

Not to mention they (Judas) betrayed Jesus.
Israel would not even exist today if not for western powers
I do not have a favorable opinion on Israel.
