Regarding SZ 110, I got hosed one time on a UK scramble. Usually as Germany, I send 3 fighters, 3 Stukas, 1 bombers and sometimes 1 sub to SZ 110. Our UK player had gotten in the habit of not scrambling in order to save the RAF for future action.
Well, this one game I made the mistake of just assuming UK would not scramble. I sent 2 fighters, 2 Stukas and 1 bomber to SZ 110. The other fighter and Stuka I sent to kill the French fleet in SZ 93. Well, UK taught me a lesson. They scrambled and wiped out my planes. I didn’t even kill all the ships in the channel.
Never made that mistake again.

As much as I am guilty of recently cluttering up the FAQs thread, I am in favor of cleaning house, so that I can begin reading from page 1 all posts that matter, and finish the whole thread this year.

Hey Jimmy most of us appreciate your sentiments - that you don’t want other stuff cluttering up the FAQ thread. Just ask a moderator to go through the thread and delete posts that have nothing to do with answering FAQ questions. It can be cleaned up by a moderator, and then all of us don’t have to be super careful to never post anything non-FAQ related.
I will do so upon the request of both Krieghund and Gamerman as they are the main respondants of the thread.

Yes. But you can only build a Major on a territory with an IPC value of 3 or more.

and Majors can only be built on original territories 3IPC or more, and a minor on any you control 2IPC or more. I got confused last weekend with AA50thAE rules. So…. IPC territory value has nothing to do with IC placements or SBR damage… just convoy disruption damage. Got it.

Namely, is it legal to bring in units to a zone that was just conquered, or do we need to move these units at the same time as the fighting units?

pretty much anything but air units? I have never done that.

Anything but air units, that’s right.
Plus, you can send mech and tanks through to a second friendly territory.
Example:
You’re the UK and you control Alexandria and Trans-Jordan.
You invade and conquer Egypt.
If you left a mech or tank behind in Alexandria, during non-combat you can move them to Trans-Jordan. Additionally, if you had mech or tanks in Trans-Jordan that hadn’t moved, you could move them to Alexandria. You could actually do both at the same time (mech one way, tanks the other, of course. Sending the same units back and forth would have no effect). -
I had the understanding that Mechs could only blitz in the company of a Tank which would mean your example of splitting the units into the second territory would not be allowed.

Since, in that example, Egypt was friendly territory at the time, the movement is not considered blitzing. Blitzing is moving into a hostile space before entering a second.

That’s right, blitzing is only done during the combat movement phase.

To any gamers out there please assit. In Alpha 2 Strategic Bombing. Fighter escorts travelling with the Bombers fire at 1 against interceptors which fire at 2. The rules state remove interceptor casualties immediately. Does this mean that interceptors that are shot down by escorts cannot shoot at the bombers?
Example: Germany has 3 SMB with 6 fighter escorts against 6 UK fighter interceptors. The escorts fire at 1 and achieve 1 hit. Does this mean only 5 interceptors can fire at the German Bombers or can six still fire? If 6 can still fire why do the rules state remove the interceptors immediately?

In this example you would remove 1 UK fighter and then fire @2 with the remaining 5 fighters. The bombers then also get to fire at the interceptors @ 1. Remove casualties. Any surviving bombers get fired at by AAGuns then any surviving bombers after that get to roll to bomb IC NB or AB.
Note: the bombers and interceptors fire at the same time like any other battle. Escorts are like subs they get that first strike before anyone else. Also if UK got say 5 hits with their interceptors you would remove the 3 bombers first and the remaining 2 would be taken on the escorts. -
Hello; question on USA NCM. If USA and Japan are not at war until USA has DOW on turn 3, can USA NCM on turn 3 end in an adjacent sea zone to an allied power – eg USA boats in z37 around Malaysia if still UK owned? Can USA units land on Allied territory at end of NCM turn 3 under same conditions?
