I suggest you download TripleA (there are turorials on the forums). You can play against the AI (like GTO I guess), hotseat and online. It rocks.

Spring 1942 Map
48w x 25.5h seen here (file max is 60ish x 30ish)
… at IL’s warning of possible glare, I had it printed on a canvas type material.
Thanks Imperious Leader !!!

WOW!!!
Thats is really nice. Finally somebody made this picture. You made me very happy and thank you very much!!!
If you can do one small favor: Post these pictures on BGG and provide the links to my maps so others can also enjoy it.
Thanks in advance…
Oh and wait till you see the revised Global 40 and Global 39 that i am working on. They will put my other maps to shame.
-
Glad you approve IL … its a great map.
BGG = Board Game Geek ?
-
yes
-
Wow that’s impressive. How much did you cost to get that printed? Or total cost, mat included.
-
I agree, that is beautiful. And what “canvas type material” did you print it on?
-
Yes thats what i use. Its perfect and easy to transport and wont ever crease.
-
I had this done at a local sign/print shop. After a breif discussion with the guy concerning glare and overall quality (lucky for me) he had a scrap piece just big enough of a “canvas type material that should work great.” His words. So im unceratin of the exact material. If you go into a shop with a low glare/durable material in mind, im sure a professional will know what you need.
Mine was $40 dollars cause of the scrap piece. Probaly would have been $60 on new material for its size.
As IL mentioned, it is very durable for its purpose and easily rolls up for transport.
If you can print the full size map … you’ll probly be around the 75 dollar area … well worth it if you have the space to accomodate it.
-
Pretty reasonable price. The original map is entirely too small for my liking, Germany looks like a hot mess on the inital setup. What are the deminsions for the maxium size of your map IL? I didn’t see it listed in this thread.
-
about 60 x 30
-
Nicely done. I need to print it for my next game, although with all the new games it will be a long time before I play 1942 on board.
Love the size of Switzerland :-D
-
Everything is supposed to look OOB because most people prefer everything looking stock. All future maps will be presented this way, however my Global 1939 map is much more accurate in this regard.
-
I had a hard time finding a local store to print one out for me so I printed a map out on canvas from uprinting.com.
Went 60x30 and it cost $92. I little higher than what is on here, but it was the cheapest I could find online.
The only problem is that you can only upload 100 MB, and the Supreme map is a little larger than that. I definitely like the OOB look of this like IL said, but really a bigger map was all I was after.
Hope this helps anyone who might need it.

What was your solution for the 100MB problem? Also I’m assuming they take your order and ship it to you in the mail…? I’ll have to check if they ship to APOs. I don’t feel like hassling with Koreans to try and print it out, it’ll probably fall apart in less than a week :|

It is 191 MB and cant be reduced.
Just search internet for cheap per sq ft price for print.
I use www.aaaflagandbanner.com

I just used a differnet map. Would have liked to use IL’s, but couldn’t. The few times I’ve played on it I haven’t noticed anything falling apart or fraying. Looks pretty solid.
You might even be able to get around the 100 MB upload if you contact them.

Wow… this is just what that edition needs! No more cramped quarters and tipping over stacks. I’m looking into printing this out as well :-D
-
I’ve been trying to find a printing source for the IL’s great board/map - but the prices!
Well over $100 at the three places I’ve checked. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Look on the internet for online outlets.
