AA Spring 1942 Online site?

I have Revised (2004), and I will be getting 1942 2nd Ed.  Because the Revised map is pretty much the same as 1942 1st Ed., I figured I could just play 1942 on the older board. I have the instruction book PDF. I also saw the set up info on the Resources page, but I was wondering if any of the members here actually made their own cards or if they have a really good scan of them or something like that (I would be printing them out and laminating), because let’s face it. I just have no skill doing that kind of stuff.  Thanks  =)

I also like 42 better. They took what had most improved in Revised (the map) and then improved what still needed the most improvements (naval warfare).

Nowadays naval combat matters, and, guess what: it’s FUN! I’m using (and buying) subs. SUBS!

If you compare both map area looks to be the same more or less: some territories/SZs are bigger on Revised or 1942. 1942 map looks better visually but concerning playability it is worse that Revised because of the borders. On Anniversary there’s larger territories and the borders are less harder to spot but on 1942 it gets impossible to see the borders in some areas (Europe and Atlantic SZs) specially when a territory is overstacked with pieces. And since this version is meant for new players the playability issue is even worse because they will not be accostumed to the territory connections like a veteran revised player.

One thing about translating NA’s from AA50 would be Italy.  Without Italy, the NA’s would be in favor of Allies.

If you want to play AA50, use the AA 1942 pieces and IL’s big AA 50 map and download the rules from WotC/AH website.

Not sure about the techs.  Paratrooper would wreck havoc as the board is smaller than AA50 and LRA and paratrooper would allow you to reach almost any territory possible.

As for being bland, I would have to disagree, AA 1942 (AAR with AA50 rules) allows for different strategies, (not sure about a bid as it’s still new and people haven’t had enough time to play with it.

Play with it first before modifying.

With Germany, I will be attacking the USA atl fleet first turn with a submarine.  I will be positioning my air force to ensure that the allies can not land in Europe or Africa the first turn (easy to do this time, since i will only need 1bomber and 3fighters in range to wipe out any first turn joint allied fleet that decides to move to africa).
With USA and UK, I will be buying shit tons of Fleet Defense, which will delay my landings by 1 full turn.  Russia is going to be in a tight squeeze because of this.

Russia and Japan will be played pretty much the same, except that russia can count on any support through africa being 1 turn late.
