Not to change the subject but I was # 70 yesterday when I took FMG pole to prepay, so its still growing. I also plan on getting a set of battle dice for AA50 maybe two. So keep spreading the word.

IL, I was thinking maybe you could re-post this project in other parts of the forum. It would affect all the AA games & house rules etc. Not everyone that comes to this forum would come to variants. Might help get the word out just a thought.

Or were you sugesting that IL make a notice in the other fora (AAR, AA50, AAG, AAE, AAP, AABulge & AAD-Day) to make sure the whole community is aware of this project? That is how I understood your question. Take care.

Do you guys think the Russian Bomber should be the PE-8, cause we already have that. I was thinking of a double engine like the IL-4 so that Russia would have both a heavy and medium bomber

It should definatly be a new type of unit, because the FMG pieces should do BOTH replace the standard set, AND use sculpts that are of a slightly different category, so many more types of units can be used for various house rules.
This means that FMG does not make another T-34/76 Soviet tank, but makes a KV-1 or SU-122, so players can have the flexibility in either swapping out the OOB pieces for FMG pieces, or adding the FMG pieces as new types of units or units that have special roles.

ya, so we should want the Russian Fighter to be the IL-2 and the Russian bomber to be the IL-4, right?

IL-4, Medium Bomber

IL-2 is great. This can be a special divebomber type. That should be the fighter
we have a Yak from the original game and from the new AA42
we also have the pe-8 bomberso for the bomber choice use the IL-4

What I think Wild Bill is saying is, is it possible to have this thread (sticky) in all the different AA forum (Revised, Europe, Pacifc, AA50, etc, etc, etc, just in case people don’t visit variant page, I happen to see it when FMG first posted it a while ago so I was lucky to find it as I normally stick to the regular AA forum pages.
I know this topic does not belong in those pages but it could since it’s supposed to replace or add new pieces and would be applicable to all AA games?
I would expect the variant pages to be more for hardcore players but I would think that even the casual AA player would like new pieces.
Just my two cents.

The only thing we can do is have the administrator post a new article on the new FMG pieces ONCE they have some pictures and also add the bit about “hey come and visit this section and help us get the rules on these new pieces”
We will support this product because it deserves it.

Understandable. Would you know if this is posted on other forums? I know Questioneer has the AA50 reprint petition at Larry Harris’ forum and AH forum. Maybe this is the way to go for FMG? Just a thought.

Right, if they want legal issues with Hasbro, then posting at AH forum is the way to go.
