Triple A did the defender submarine wrong? Seemed to fire a sneak attack for the defender, which I believe is wrong for Classic. Only attacking subs get sneak attack.

A lot of rule questions for an “easy” game.
I will ask Martin. He has the orginal rules in german.
And I am not sure how we play this. But I think we played without sneak attack from subs.My sub will fight.

I’m quite sure Triple A was wrong to do that, but didn’t matter in this case.

Then in round 2 when I have the opportunity to withdraw subs, of course Triple A thinks you withdraw all subs or none.
This is incorrect also. The “classified” rules clarifications say you can withdraw any number of subs each round, and those subs can withdraw to a different sea zone each round if desired, though the attacker would have to withdraw to a sea zone a unit came from.
Doesn’t matter, my subs are staying to hunt the battleship of course, but I am telling you for your benefit in the future.If you are not familiar with these rules clarifications (I believe at the time I bought my game at Toys R Us in 1989 this 2 page rules clarifications was included in the box!

Of course, I believe your rules.
I think it will not happen often with the subs but makes sense.The USA lose the Pacific fleet and now the Med fleet.
But USA helps Russia and UK because Japan needs time and money to do so. -
