Sealed bid gives us both incentives to put in a number that we think is fair, and then end up getting something that is better than what we think is fair. Not as much thinking about what the other person will do.

given this there is little left to do… and I am wondering what is more reasonable: to just give up or to bear the embarassment and ignore the odds first (I mean gratefully it is a game only but a naked nemesis is still deterrent)
