one more thing, I’ll take a 16 bid
We actually have 1 game completed (if you concede it). Looking forward to another…waiting in the lobby right now.
Hello,
I am a young yet very avid fan of Axis and Allies, and I was wondering if there was any version of balance for Axis and Allies Global 1940. The game feels incredibly biased towards the axis, who just seem to walk in and take Moscow every game. Is there any mainstream balanced setup, similar to the Larry Harris Gencon 3.0 for 1942, for G40? Also, is there any way I can play A&A 1940 online with or without these rules?
@TANK78 Welcome to the forum.
While this forum category is to discuss the OOB games, there are plenty of customizations to be found in the “Customization”-subcategories, either
https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/category/17/house-rules
or
https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/category/13/other-axis-allies-variants
Just take a look there and you will find what you are searching for.
As for online play try TripleA (https://triplea-game.org/)

Have fun!
Hi @TANK78,
The most balanced version of the Axis & Allies Global 1940 game is the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion.
Everything is the same as the OOB version at the start of the game - with a few minor additions in the Setup on the Pacific side of the map.
The Balance of Play, using the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion. is the absolute best - and by far the most recorded.
You’ll find the rulebook at the House Rules section.
As soon as you start reading the rules you’ll discover multiple options for each Nation - as well as the depth and Historical dimension within the Expansion rules.
For inspiration, you should check out the Global 1940 & 1943 Game Report thread - also at the House Rules section.
Multiple pictures from both board games and TripleA are described in the Game Report thread.
You’re most welcome to contact us if you have any questions.

@The-Captain This is really interesting, but I don’t really have the investment right now to buy new pieces. Is it possible to find a version of this without buying any more pieces?
Clarification upon reread: Is there a set of house rules that I can apply without modifying game pieces or the board?
Yes - you don’t have to buy anything.
You can print the rulebook - and punch out the markers needed for game play.
The rulebook includes everything you need.
As you can see at the Game Report thread, many players are using the paper markers that they printed from the rulebook.
We even use many of these markers ourselves.
@The-Captain Oh neat! I will try this out this weekend actually.
@TANK78 Hi Tank Welcome to the site. I see Panther already mentioned triplea to you. This is probably the best setup guide.

While dated, it’s still basically the same. If you have any trouble setting it up, just ask.
There is a triplea version for The Captain and Company’s Awesome mod as well. :)

Welcome to the forum! I don’t have much else to add other than that. Everyone else’s suggestions pretty much covered all the major variants.
@The-Captain Is this version with these rules on Triple A? My printer is broken right now.
@TANK78 yea you have to use a fair amount of edit. It’s kind of like the table top game with player enforced rules for some of it.
Triplea still does the majority of it. Landmines, Paratroopers, U-boats and Escorts the most common.
Here’s a link to some detailed examples.

The latest “Combat Engineers” havent been implemented yet.
Ask if you have any questions. I think you will enjoy this mod :)
