Sometimes it can get a little confusing in island sea zones which units are in the sea zone and which are on the island. The statement is intended to make sure the attacker indicates which air units are which, since they can in many cases get to either space.

I think I’ve got some breaking news. All unit costs are consistent with AA50 with the following exceptions:
Tanks are 6
Carriers are 16
and of course the new units:
Tac Bombers 11
Mech Inf 4
Major IC 30
Minor IC 12
Airbase 15

They provide anti-air cover for either naval or air units and naval bases let naval units travel an extra space between bases, and air bases allow air units to travel one extra space.

And airbase allow fighters to participate in a naval battle when an enemy attack your fleet! (if the battle occurs within 1 case of distance)

No ships are considered “at port” instead they are in a sea zone adjacent to a territory with a naval base. The naval base is in the territory and not the sea zone.
ICs, NBs, and ABs all come with their own AA guns but those guns are only used for strategic bombing raids. The AA Gun unit is only used to military purposes. I’ll go add that to today’s article.

oh boy. I was really hoping that a naval port offered some sanctuary against naval combat, but not against air combat.
Now its back to players just sending a stack of ships to wipe out the other entire navy in one turn ( think UK vs. Germany)
I know this is Pacific and their are more places to hide, but anyway.

I don’t mind the cardboard because they take up less space. Also there are 2 types of ICs now so that would definitely up the cost of production to have two separate plastic pieces. I’d rather have the new units than plastic ICs.

Most of us have so many AA games…we can substitute factories from our other games.
I’d rather have the new pcs. :-D
I might paint a few old factories and use them for the minor factories.

i might even try to find a piece for an escord carrier. -

I know Xeno is a bad word around here but, didn’t they have a game with two sizes of ICs? If so we could scavenge those for major/minor purposes. Just trying to help the “I hate cardboard” crowd that seems to be growing.

The War Game has major and minor factories and they sell pieces separately from the game.

If you like German pieces that are too large for AA, then yes.

Can someone please tell me why exactly do we have the funny rules for tactical bombers?
why can’t it just be a 4/3/4/11 unit, instead of a 3/3/4/11 unit that sometimes becomes 4 attack?
this stops me from having a carrier with 2 tactical bombers,
this stops me from using it to attack when i don’t have the tank to go with it
and yet i paid 1 more for it than for a fighter… a fighter that always have 4 defense, regardless if what it is “paired” withonce again… making the game more defensive in nature than it needs to be
