    I’m going to use my kamikaze also, 2 tokens for 2 cruisers and the other 4 on destroyers, one for each.

    Casualty wise, free hits on everything, followed by my submarines and destroyers, but I would like to leave one to avoid first strike if you keep you subs and depending on the number of subs.

    Actually, perhaps it’s best if you ask me after every step as since it’s a big battle and I am not sure there is a single best anwser for every scenario.

  • @pejon_88 GG! Thanks for the game, I learned a whole lot playing with you and also watching you play against gamerman (and learned by playing other people also). I think I got the hang of how to play each faction, but there are probably still some things I do not know how to play out that I am not aware of.

    Do you have any final tips for me? Sry for a dragged out and a probably boring game towards the end! I was wondering if I could take India and my final idea was just to bring all German land there and take it out, leaving Russians to reclaim their land. Going after Egypt crossed my mind also.

    I kinda still wonder, when I play Japanese, what shoul I do with my PU’s since my navy is usually next to mainland Asia and the USA is at the Hawaii and can attack anything I purchase on sea. I feel like buying planes is a bit of a waste considering my already dominant air presence and land units need transports, which are also sea units. I buy 2 factories for Kwantung and FIC, but for the rest I cannot quite decide what would be a good purchase.

    @naviator Glad to hear!

    Like we decided quite early on, when I think the game was pretty much over anyway, we continued for learning purposes which I was fine with. Usually if the Axis are bogged down, it’s some kind of indication they are unsuccessful.

    That is a problem for Japan for sure. If the US has Hawaii, that’s fine and also expected unless something very exceptional has happened. The main problem is if they easily take Caroline Islands since you’re then unable to stack in SZ6 safely, but worse, they threaten the money islands, potentially Korea and Malaya etc.

    I think air is the main units for Japan to be honest. Ships can only go 3 steps, while planes situated in French Indo China with an Air Base can reach everywhere under Japan’s control.

    I would suggest trying to keep US from Caroline as far as possible is your first defense goal and once that is impossible make it hard for them to reach closer to the mainland without being wiped out.

    I’ve learned by greater players that more than 2 factories on the mainland is usually a waste of money since you are rarely able to build at all three factories mid game when you need to build aircraft etc. I like French Indo China and one of the Chinese territories. Sometimes also Malaya or Manchuria.

    When it comes to ships, that becomes a problem when US controls Carolines. You can most likely not build and stack in SZ6 since that would leave the south exposed and unthreathened from a counter attack by Japan. Then you can only build ships in Malaya or French Indo China (preferably also with a Naval Base present). You can watch my game versus Ghostglider as I’m currently in that situation with him.

  • @pejon_88 I think I accidentaly deleted a part of my text when I was writing my post.

    What I meant was, what should I do as J4?

    I usually capture the money islands on J3, but that requires moving my navy to defend the transports and what if A3 is a capture of Caroline?

    That leaves SZ6 voulnerable for J4 since my ships need to regruop at the SZ next to Phillipines so that they can threaten Caroline. Any sea purchase at that moment is relatively risky.

    I am quite likely going to stick around, in fact, I am thinking of starting a new game on the forum.

    @naviator If possible defend Carolines with planes or put a destroyer as blocker if you need to split your navy. You can probably not buy in SZ6 that turn if the full US navy is in Hawaii. Or if it is you could possibly leave some of your in SZ6 since he cannot threaten the money islands from there, hence you would need your full navy protecting the transports.
