  • @flyingbadger And defend they did! It was a bloody battle. I think it was 75% chance to win, and after round 1 of dice, it went to 87%. Unfortunately for Hirohito, Indians entrenched well in the continuation of the battle and this chance fell to 47% after round 2 and we decided to retreat.

    You did well to attack with Chinese, they sacrificed China obviously for a greater cause? To be honest, I did not know you are able to attack with Chinese land units there, I thought only fighters can attack and land. Anyway, at least that stack was destroyed. But it will now take long time to do anything again. Loads of transport there and no land units in the vicinity, planes and tanks destroyed. This was very expensive and not successful campaign. Looking back, not sure I should have done something differently, there were 18 additional units coming in, so I guess this was a good decision, but the luck thought differently.

    Soviets also managed to go in the counter-offensive while Germans were securing Scandinavia, the Soviet south is not looking very good. This might be a prolonged war, despite Axis having a significant financial advantage. I would say you are doing very well with limited resources. Italy might prove to be a decisive factor here, despite problems in the first few rounds.

    Unless… Is London now threatened by German naval invasion?

    It was lucky dice which saved India. I didn’t realise the threat and thought the Chinese would be too late. I had noticed that other players had landed the fighter in Burma, maybe I should check the G40 rules but I think it is okay. It has helped take the pressure off India for a couple of turns but it I’m sure Japan will be back for another go. You had set up the attack well and it was the right choice to go for it as the odds were good and it would have been game over pretty much.

    The Soviets have done what they can, but without the Allies coming in from Norway they may not be able to take the attack to Germany on their own for long.

    Yes, I fear that London is vulnerable to invasion and unfortunately more troops are needed on every front. The Middle East is not well defended and South Africa is wide open…

    We tried for Stalingrad (1% chance of success), but failed. I don’t think there is anywhere else to try to grab back the 13th VC. Well done and very well played. A comprehensive victory on both sides of the globe.
