That’s a better idea, especially since Japan is usually somewhat stretched to the limits on their declaration of war on the US.
G40 Redesign (currently taking suggestions)

If you read the whole list of those alliances they line up if Germany was at the top. The list has been shifted upwards because of Changer being at the top. What I think is happening is the programming wants to start with an alliance at the top, but since Changer doesn’t have a button for an alliance (same as Dutch, Mongolians, etc.) then it shifts the buttons upwards and starts at the first player, which is now Changer. If you throw in the alliance (Axis/Allies) for Changer then it forces a button to be there and keeps the list lined up.

@waxfingers yea i’ll look at this some more today. Changer has to go first and it has to be Allied to everybody. Although I wonder if changing the Alliance actually affects Changer ? Relationships should override Alliance anyway

I am not sure, but I think that alliance button is just for setting up who plays what more easily.

yea alliance doesn’t make that player allied it’s just who plays it. That’s what i’m thinking. i’ll try n test a bit later

@waxfingers well I can get a save to load to the lobby with the new version, made Changer Axis, and it all lines up correct but the “Play” button doesn’t light up for me to start the game.
I’m not very experienced with the Lobby, so IDK if I should update triplea yet or not.
I don’t think the Alliances mean anything, the game will play correctly as is, but it’d be nice to have it all line up to avoid confusion.
I guess I’ll probably just do an update. If something doesn’t work I’ll just change it back

Right on Been a while since I played in the Lobby :) I think this should work as “Relationships” override “Alliances”.
You may want to double check the Notes and make sure they’re how you want them

I tried a game with the new version, works great. The alliance buttons work out.
I am getting a bit disincentivized to keep working on this though. The lobby is a bit stale unfortunately. Not many players really, and the main core ones that play global aren’t up for even trying the new mod for play testing. People just want to play the map they know and stick to it.
Perhaps I can get some of my IRL friends to play on it, but without people even trying a new map, it doesn’t really go anywhere. Too bad, and disheartening about the community state. -
@waxfingers cool thought that was you on there. Yea not many people willing to try new stuff. I just do it because I enjoy it. All my games are just test games by myself.
Hope you can find some new recruits. Anyway, thanks for the additions, they seem pretty cool, and for cluing me in on the lobby/ saves etc…
