@ABWorsham4 probably still scared the starving civilians , carrying rifles and 2 bullets each, half to death at the time though .

why’d they run at the end?

because everyone was making or using a skull item. that reminded the guys of death, toungue in cheeck they were on the eastern front waiting for an attack, and they say skulls everywhere……it was a joke on the their sense of forboding of the death that would await them as the russians attacked. so they ran, b/c everyone was going to die,…everything they had was skull laden.

the russian one was incrediable moslty the artillery barrage in the beginning was incrediable.
