Actually, Upside-down_Turtle comes from my early Star Craft days.  Basically, in a 3v2 game, I’d be the odd man out as Terran and essentially be a non factor.  I’d maybe get off an expand or two, but eventually “turtle up” and suck all my minerals dry.  Then I basically pray my buddies won the huge battle I had no part in.  Otherwise, I was easy pickings.

Best run I had was as the zerg.  Captured, like, ten minneral fields in the middle of the map.  Problem was, no one could attack anyone else unless they went through me.  It was like a giant Hydralisk meat grinder.    :-P They kicked me out eventually, but it was a good run.  8-)

Oh yeah, and I almost killed someone with a Zelot rush  :-D

That settles it, I’m Googling Star Craft II videos…

I’ve only seen these in WWI A&A variants.  How would they work?  Is it a viable unit in A&A, or just a waist of plastic?

Rocket Tech now has two levels: V1 and V2.  Rolling Rockets gets you V1s.  A second roll on rockets get you V2s.

V1 costs 1 IPC, has a range of two, and does damage = 1d6 halved.  Radar makes a country immune to V1s.
*If you think this makes Radar too powerful, AA roles 1 die against each V1.  A role of 1 fails to shoot it down
**If you think the above rule allows too many V1s to hit, use a d10 or d12 for more realistic statistics.

V2 costs 2 IPCs, has a range of 3, and does damage = 1d6.  Theses rockets are unstoppable.  May carry an Atomic Bomb.
*If you think that is too powerful, make a V3 level for nukes.

these are good rules, i think AA guns and and fighters should be able to intercept them like regular aircraft though. i was able to shoot down a V1 buzz bomb in a WW2 flight simulator game.

I think the V2 rule are good to, although i dont think they were as effective a stratigic attacks as a whole bomber group. Maybe half their damage and keep them costing 1.

I like the idea of V3 and maybe even V4 rockets that can launch nukes even long distance

What are we considering as SPA, becasue if you include tank destoyers i would say they should be good on the defensive, but if you are including rocket artillery they would be good on the offensive.

What if you didn’t have SPA, just a tank destoyer unita and a rocket artillery unit

I’ll go ahead and add my version of the Paratrooper Rule:

Cost 4, Att 1, Def 1. Delivery method: Your choice, whatever you like best. LH rule is good (bomber drops one into first hostile zone), or many of the others here are great as well.

Here’s the kicker: Special ability- Match either 1-1 or 1-2 (haven’t play tested enough yet to decide) with DEFENDER’S UNITS, reducing the defender unit by 1 Def.

Example: 1 tank and 1 paratrooper attack 1 infantry and 1 tank. Attackers = 1@3 (tank) and 1@1 (para). Defenders = 1@2 (inf) and 1@2 (tank) instead of 1@3 (tank). If you decide to match 1-2, then defender would be 1@1 (inf) and 1@2 (tank)

Thoughts?

After going back over this a few times, I’ve decided on 1-2 matching. First, the delivery method is a bit complex and expensive. 2, with bases having their own air defense now there is more tactical AA fire on the board. 3, at a 1/1/1/4 unit, they need 2 “points” more to be worth it. So match 'em 1-2 if you use my rules.
