I was wondering if anyone has a good WW1 game/map that uses A&A similar pieces/rules.
Thanks. -
look in this section and eventually it will turn up
-
Well, turns out I didn’t have to look very far… Thanks!
I can’t seem to open up the files though. You don’t have a pdf version that you can email me do you??? -
they are in PDF. show me the link
-
Okay, when I click on the link you provided for the map - it says there are 149 files to choose from. Which one is it? Can I search for it by the date you posted it?
Thanks. -
Nevermind - I found it.
Question: Besides Italy, there seems to be 4 other different shades of green (Belgium, Albania, Moldavia/Romania, and Bulgaria/Phillipolis). Which power controls these territories?(Sorry - I don’t know a whole lot about WW1 :|)
-
Wow IL! This map is great! I love it!

read the rules.
Phillipolis is part of Greece BTW

What do you use for units? Where can I get/buy units at for this game?
Thanks. -
use you axis and allies pieces and buy Table tactics central powers set.
Also, goto www.scalespecialties.com and look for navwar for the zeppelins
They have armored cars and tanks too if you want metals.
If you want real ww1 infantry, buy 1/72 scale hat/ airfix ( see toy soldier review. com for pictures. They have cavalry too
For real ww1 planes goto www.brookhurst hobbies.com look tumbling dice vapor trails 1/700 scale planes
The entire set would be about $150 for all nations. The game has been played hundreds of times over the years. Its gone thru alot of playtesting so you will find it probably better than Axis and Allies.

Just to clarify: it would be (approx.) $150 if I ordered the pieces from these retailers, or I can order them from you for $150?
Thanks. -
I dont sell pieces. just buy from the links and proxy the pieces from other games.
-
Thanks. Great map IL.

How does the game model the trench warfare?
Is it a game of movement or just attrition with massive attacks against a static trench system?
-
read the rules…
Units can forgo movement and combat and “entrench” raising the defence value to 2 ( Infantry are 1-1 units)
The game features forts which can be captured take a number of hits to be ‘wrecked’
Planes can act as spotters for Artillery
Artillery gets some special attributes
and of course the game has Railway Artillery ( Railguns) which are developed by technology.

I am intrigued, will read the rules!
