Wait wait wait…
St Edmund?
I think you’ve mistaken him for Boramir from Lord of the Rings…
George Carlin has passed on. He lived 71 glorious years and brought cheer and joy to many thousands of people. He will sorely be missed.
My personal favorite skit was his Airline skit, but I also loved the joke:
“If crime fighters fight crime, and fire fighters fight fires; what do freedom fighters fight?”
Ah. A wit like his will surely be missed.
Surely a funny guy, but noone lives forever, and I can buy the DVDs ;)
"All the stuff you know you’re going to need for one night on Mauii.
Money. Keys. Comb. Wallet. Lighter. Hankey. Pen. Smokes. Rubber and change.
…Well all the stuff you hope you’re going to need."
Love that album.
Just noticed Best Buy raised the prices on George’s CDs from $4.99 to $12.99 and some up to $24.99 today!
Like a true artist, his work is worth more now that he’s gone…
man i was hoping he’d come out with another book or do one more new show. he’ll be missed.
Baseball and Football…
And considering how he went out…
Carlin vs. Pryor in the hospitalization challenge…
I guess Carlin is now ahead 3 to 1 over Richard in heart attacks, while Pryor is still up 1-0 in burning himself up.
Hers is a link to one of his best that includes the above…

Ah, Carlin at Carnegie. Good call, Switch.
The benchmark by which all other comedy routines are judged, IMO. Pure genius. You’d have a hard time finding a better opening joke than “Have you noticed that most of the women who are against abortion are women that you wouldn’t want to f*** in the first place?”
The world is a little darker place now, for sure.
I was just watching the Aristocrats this past weekend. When I saw his portion (a good part of it), I thought to myself “damn, he must be old by now.”
Well, my bad, I killed him.
how can one forget the infamous ‘seven-words’ you can’t say on TV?

If I was his progeny, those seven words would be emblazoned on his tombstone.
Well, my bad, I killed him.
You sure did.
I always say: genetics, Jermofoot, and decades of drug abuse are the “Triangle of Death”. Add em’ up and they’ll get you every time.

You, sir, have won a quoting.
Just don’t go thinking about how “old” I may or may not be. I’m definitely light on the drug abuse compared to George, but I don’t want to take any chances.

Never crossed my mind…
HBO is playing a several of his specials right now….
