• @AJ:

Yeah what switch said … I’m not gonna go to a different site for it. I only go to the PD because it’s here.

    ditto

  • Before I became a Mod, PD was what I read and posted in between game moves.  I was already logged on awaiting moves in a game, so I read other areas of THIS site.

The other benefit of PD here was that is was other gamers, and that they were folks you gamed with.  So it was very different from just some other random site on the web.

Let’s face it, all those darned left wing Liberals, all those darned wight wing Conservatives, and all those darn moderate Libertarians and others all had the common interest of A&A to give them some common ground.  Another web site, even if is initially populated by A&A.org folks, WILL lose that over time.

What if the theme for the site was “Boardgamers talking politics?” Sure it might get a few people from other games but that might no be so bad.

I don’t think I would go to the site anyway … I don’t go to PD because there are “gamers” in it I go because it is on a site that I am already on.
I don’t even consider myself a “gamer” since this is just about the only game I play. I think of it as a minor hobby which has grown too large. The PD actually got me into the site more since I kept coming back onto the site to visit the PD I decided to play more PBF games which I don’t plan on doing anymore. I think I would also probably stop visiting the PD as often as I have in the past. Although I was not usually a big poster I was interested in the topics. But it all turns into a blur after the 3rd or 4th page and never quite stays on the original topic.

I’d rather, honestly, keep it here because I can do my games and my discussions here.  But I’d move.

  • I’d rather it still be a part of the whole forum, but I could still visit it.

Come on guys, even if it’s on another domain, it’s only 1 more click.  :-D  Perhaps we could even have shared logins.

I too would like shared logins, then I could just migrate the existing PD forum in place.

For me, the PD forum is a big part of what has kept me away from this board the last little while. Fortunately by now the threads I was in have mostly died, so I’m not bothered by them when I check latest updates.

So no, I would not follow to another board. Frankly, don’t you think the web has enough outlets for ignorant political raving?

People looking for this might enjoy the forum at nationstates.net, where you log in daily to manage your own country, and they have a very active political forum, but it really fits with that site because it is all about making policy decisions.

I went on to the forum their like twice ever. its too damn hard and pointless to post their. but II found out someone was from hong kong and i politely asked( you could even connect it to the topic) what he thought of china and hong kong’s relationship with them.  then they deleted my post.  :x

  • I will not be moving to a new site, either a mod or as a participant.
