G40 Waffen-SS Sturm Pioneer units

@GigaSmoot Hey, since no one has answered yet, I figured I could leave you some feedback… Although take it with a grain of salt, because I am not that experienced in Global 1940.

First, I really like the idea of simplified National Objectives! It is true that the basic Axis and Allies is already complicated and Global 1940 tops that.

However, I think the NOs favor the Axis too much in Europe. Germany will push the Soviets to Moscow and occupy so many allied-territories that it will drown in IPCs. Russis however wont get any additional income through NOs until Germany has already been pushed out of its territory. I think with your NOs, Germany will snowball pretty hard.

But again, I am not an expert in Global 1940, but that’s my first inpression.

But yes, that makes sense.

I know there are other forums on this but I wanted to collect the best ideas here. What minor powers work best (balancing wise and being fun), preferably those without having to buy lots of extra pieces/ones that can use pieces from other games. But if one requires purchasing pieces and is really good feel free to add. Also not G40 specific but that tends to be the most common for minor powers. Thanks!

This rule is part of the Axis & Allies Global 1940 2E, House Rules Expansion.

To increase the striking force of Tank units, they must be organized into an Army - the Panzer Army.

This rule shows how to organize such an Army - how it fights - and ultimately what strength it represents.

Though limited in numbers (due to Play Balance as well as Historical Accuracy) the Panzer Armies are the single most hard hitting combination of units anywhere on the game board.

Still, the Panzer Army should not fight on its own - it should be part of a larger force and serve as the backbone - for as long as possible.

As you’ll discover, the Panzer Army Formation has multiple purposes and options - both in the Strategic Offensive role as well as during defensive combat etc.

Combine Venezuela/Colombia/Ecuador, Chile/Bolivia/Peru, and Argentina/Paraguay/Uruguay together. No need to change IPC values.

From a playability standpoint it makes no sense to have 9 little countries across the continent.

I play it like this and things can get interesting.

we have a house rule that captured majors turn into fully damaged minors and captured minors are destroyed.
i have also seen rules that when you capture IC you role a D20 for major and D6 for minor to determine how much damage it received during the battle.
