Because there were no British territories surrounding Lorraine, the British forces couldn’t be moved out. Because of that, I didn’t need to leave a French infantry. I corrected it.

You are indeed correct. I didn’t know a power had to control a territory by itself to move out of contested zones. I thought areas controlled by your allies would also suffice.
