Wow, really? By the way can we play ten games? Or are you too busy?
We can play as many as you like my friend. We will have you kicking CP butt in no time.

Is it too early to say that I did something wrong?
If not, would you please tell me what I did wrong?
-
Thanks! I can’t wait to test what you said in your videos.
That being said though, I am nervous about this:
How can I win using the Allied strategies you created? Since you yourself created them you should have no problem countering them. Kinda hard to beat someone with their own weapon.
Is this concern valid? Or do you think that your turn openers, while important, aren’t necessarily decisive by itself? Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it.
Things haven’t been looking too stellar. The only game where the Central Powers won using this strategy they were using low luck (which probably favoured them), and were super lucky forcing the Russian Revolution on turn 4 (that was really, really lucky). They probably won in spite of, not because, of building a navy.
I might do it with you once just to see how you react.
-
My thoughts on why a big navy is a good idea is partly so the Allies can’t land troops onto France.
However, I think the main reason why I want to build a big navy is that I’m almost sentimental about navies (I always liked studying navies rather than armies in general when I look at World War 1 and World War 2), and I just feel the need to build a navy because of this sentimentality.

The openers are still very competitive in my opinion in spite of my knowledge of them. Roughly half of the moves you see in those videos are not even my own but something I saw someone else do. They’re sort-of a mish-mash of plagiarized moves that survive game to game and player to player. But there is still a lot of time before it is clear who is ‘winning’ this game. Having a perfect opener is still not likely to save a less skilled player from a more skilled player, even if the less skilled player is on the side that is more favorably balanced (imo).
All this to say: if you see something you like and feel comfortable with in those videos, take it. If you think you can do something better or aren’t comfortable a certain move, try something else. =)

I feel the UK should not lose India and should not let the Ottomans into Africa. The income of the CP is currently very much in their favor. It do no see how it can be recovered at this point. The total unit value (TUV) of CP vs Entente pieces on the board is 720-CP to 610-Entente. The Entente should have 200 or more IPC greater than the CP to remain competitive (this 200 IPC difference is to account for their naval fleets as navy essentially do not participate in land combats where the IPC are).
-
Thanks! Since what I’m doing clearly isn’t working, I might integrate some of what you say into my Allied strategies.
Also, we know that the Allies won World War 1. How viable is it to do exactly what the Entente did historically as their strategy for this game? Will this work or not work?
-
Ah well, we can play again once this one is done.
Say, what are your thoughts on Global 1940? Would you be interested in playing that one?

The Germans attacked in Belgium and scored 17 hits. How do you want them allocated here? (my purchase is in the bottom right - the only other combats were in Switzerland and Holland).

I um, didn’t follow some of the rules, but it’s mostly correct. The second one used low luck.
What did both sides do wrong and right? Did low luck help the Central Powers, or was it simply that they were extremely lucky to trigger the Revolution in turn 4?
