Yes, I think the writing has been on the wall, made a few desperate gambles recently to at least go down swinging but I think it’s rice wine in San Franciso for the Japanese :clinking_glasses: :flag-jp: .
Very well played. I’ll post the result. Any feedback on my game, always keen to learn if I can

Thanks! It’s been exciting. I’ll try and look at it for a review.

If you want we can have a rematch.

Sounds great. Swap sides, same sides, rebid?

How about same bid, but switch sides?

Cool, I’ll probably even steal your bid placement too (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). I’ll set up the new topic, place the bid and change over to being the bad guys.

Sweet! Japan does need the love.

It’s hard to do a thorough and detailed analysis of our game, but I might have a few general points.
UK successfully crushed the italian fleet, but was at the same time left rather crippled for a while. US stepped in, but perhaps there should have been more pressure in the Med early, making Italy sweat a bit?
Russia is very different from BM3. Richer and more powerful. I think Germany was allowed to make progress a bit too easy. Especially the mIC in Ukraine should’ve been possible to defend for atleast a while. It’s a valuable asset. You defended well, but was pressed back early on.
The Pac is extra complex with all the island-hopping possibilities. Perhaps US was more pressed focusing on countering Japan than going for the Med? As it turned out Japan evolved into a Godzilla, which was probably unstoppable towards the end.

That’s perfect, thanks. Just a few pointers to work on is enough. I feel turns 2 and 3 are areas I need to improve on (both for Axis and Allies), probably too conservative which gives the other side the chance to dictate the play and grab extra IPCs, then it becomes a bit of a heroic fighting retreat from there. I try to stay objective aware in the Pacific, but still struggle with the chess match of move / counter-move with the fleets. It’s good fun though and a nice change up from G40 / BM.
I’ll start our new game soon, just slowly thinking about what to do with Japan as I’ve not been too good with them in other PtV games. Seem unable to hold onto Yunnan never mind conquer the Pacific…
