I made a video about these. If anyone is interested in a set, let me know.
Cliffside Bunker Battle Dice (UPDATED)
-
Nice job YG! It might be too early but can you ballpark the price for a set of these dice? Are you going to sell them yourself or kickstarter or sell them through one or more of the gaming companies?
No promises, we are still working out many details… but retail cost would be anywhere from $40 to $50 a set, each set would consist of 10 dice per colour, so 40 dice total. We are currently working out a deal with Historical Board Gaming for distribution… no plans for pre-order or crowdfunding on the 6 sided, but our future plans for our 8 sided dice will require more backing… all this however, is speculative ball parking at the moment.

@Young:
Thanks for making these reality YG. You mentioned that you have a reason behind your color choices. Do you mind me asking, out of curiosity, what that reasoning is?
My reasons would sound very superficial to many people, but I can say that they involve information recognition, and subliminal association (if any of that helps).
No, subliminal/intuitive association makes perfect sense to me. The colors of the IWNGU dice were very intuitive to me. The color scheme seems like a “heat (hit) index” - White (1), Yellow (2), Orange (3), Red (4). The “hotter” the dice, the more hits it should make.

I loved what IWNGU did with their hit dice, but at the last time I checked, the yellow and orange were far too close in tone to tell apart at a quick glance, which was a shame… did they ever fix that issue?

all chessex dice have round corners, which make them spinners. Only casino dice have sharp corners, which only spin on firm surfaces. At least those are my observations looking over the 2 booths at gencon

$40 to $50 CAD per set? Or USD

Great news everyone… the molds have been purchased, hit symbol configuration will be the same as 1s, 2s, 3s, and 4s on a regular 6 sided die.
-
Hey Everyone,
We are making all Cliffside Bunker battle dice configurations the same as regular 6 sided dice, this is very important in order to really legitimize these dice during competitive games.
-
Green = 2
-
Blue = 3
-
Red = 4

Can you do rounded edges, reason is we got a bunch of dice floppers that are keen on getting the result they want by hardly rolling the thing, especially a kid called “call shot kid” because he can roll whatever he wants and calls it. The rounded dice will keep him honest.
PLEASE ROUNDED DICE

Yes… they will be rounded dice, just like the dice that come with all Axis & Allies games.

BATTLE DICE UPDATE: SAMPLES ARE ON THEIR WAY… PICTURE OF SAMPLES ATTACHED!

so on my battle board I could just put a color dot on the 1 thru 4 to match the dice? are you (YG) going to do the bunker battle boards like that or are you going to print out special ones? just wondering cause your stuff tends to be cool and very functional to game play.

We are most definitely working on a battle board for these dice, HBG is designing it and will be available through them just like the dice will be available through HBG… Although, the colored stickers on your existing battle board is a smart idea.

They look etched into the dice.
Won’t that throw off the balance?
The unetched sides will be slightly heavier now.
Otherwise, great idea. -

Otherwise, great idea.By that argument, rolling a 1 on a normal die is more likely than rolling a 6.

Those look AWESOME! I am definitely in the market to by a set or two….
Quick Question: Will you also offer a 5-hit die for the Jet-Power tech in the 2nd Edition game?

Unfortunately we don’t have the resources to gamble on a 5th type of dice, we have to order 30,000 just to get the retail cost down to something reasonable. Maybe if we sell out and need a second run, we might look into it… but for now, you will need the regular dice for your jet fighters attacking at 5 or less.

Otherwise, great idea.They are etched, just like pips on regular dice are etched… any other option besides etched is poor quality in my opinion.
