Featuring:

Massive map 16816x8085px=136Mpx, one of the biggest TripleA maps. Unit size 54px high, this is with 4K screens in mind. Nearly 800 land & sea locations, with terrain effects, Desert, Forest, Marsh, Tundra, Urban, impassable mountains, canals Stacking limit is enforced to help the AI. Only 10 Air & 10 Sea units are allowed per Sea Zone/Territory. Only 20 Land per Territory. AI friendly, no Objectives, or Politics/Technology phases, both are scripted. 79 territories marked to guide the AI for better play. Sea Zones are worth 1-2pu/turn and for Britain and Japan are vital for their survival All land territories bordering Sea Zones can be blockaded. There are no convoy centres/route/zones. Four Lend-Lease-Depots, 3 in USSR Archangelsk, Persian Corridor to Baku, Vladivostok and Burma Road to Yunnan China Four types of HQ Commands, Air, Army, Fleet and Submarine, nations can have between none and five types of a HQ.
These represent Rommel, Montgomery, Patton, Cunningham, Donitz, Nimitz, US 8th Air Force HQs etc. and their staff. Four different type of “Factory” As a minimum requires TripleA 2.6.14517+

11. Now it is the Allied turn. The same procedure is followed as before. The defending CAP fighter shoots at the incoming planes, and they get to fire back.

12. The Japanese CAP fighter misses, but the Allied planes shoot it down.

13. Both planes select the same carrier group to go after. The ships miss their AA fire, so the planes are free to attack.

14. Both planes score a hit on the carrier and it is sunk. Planes must now return home.

15. Planes on both sides must land on their carriers. The US plane lost its carrier, and so must ditch at sea (destroyed). Both sides may reshuffle the composition of their groups. At this point, the Japanese player decides if they wish to retreat, and they choose to continue the battle instead. The Allies, however, choose to retreat, The Allied ships return to port and the Japanese fleet continues on its original mission.

Historical Board Gaming (HBG) is now taking preorders on their Amerika pieces for the German player, now in Black (they were originally in grey).

One thing to point out, these Pre-Orders on Black Amerika German Sets include not only the German Set pieces from base game pieces but also the German Set pieces from the Amerika Expansion Set “Bring in the Heavies”. Well worth it if you already have Amerika and the “Bring in the Heavies” expansion and you just want the new pieces, worth it if you already have Amerika and you just want the new pieces, and also worth-while if you just want to equip your late-war Germans in a game of Axis & Allies or Global War '36 or '39 with some awesome new tanks, mechs, self-propelled guns, jet fighters, and jet bombers.

HBG recently announced a re-print of their game Amerika. The difference between the first print and the newly-announced second print will be the color of the pieces. To quote HBG: “… new Amerika Game with [T]an Allies, Black Germans, and Yellow-Gold Japanese” (Source)

What I elided out of that quote is that if you have a copy of Amerika and just want the new pieces, HBG will accommodate you, but only for a short while. The full quote goes: “Pre-Orders on Tan Amerika Allies Sets will be available for 4 weeks only (Ends July 16), after that they will only be in the new Amerika Game with [T]an Allies, Black Germans, and Yellow-Gold Japanese.”

So, making the Allies Set in in Tan allows one to get HBG Centurion tanks and Meteor Jet fighters in British Tan. But only for the next 2 to 3 weeks. (Recently, HBG announced that their French Set would be available for pre-orders in a “light blue” or “Free French” color until the 5th of June. Only pre-orders were cancelled before then, and if you were too slow, you missed out.) So, if this sounds like something you would like to have, you will want to move sooner rather than later.

One thing to point out, these Pre-Orders on Tan Amerika Allies Sets include not only the Allies Set pieces from base game pieces but also the Allies Set pieces from the Amerika Expansion Set “Bring in the Heavies”. I’ve always found the history of the War card game quite interesting, especially when you compare it to Solitaire. War is one of those classic card games that is so simple yet engaging, much like Solitaire. Both games have been around for ages and have a sort of timeless appeal. War is thought to date back to at least the 19th century, and it is often one of the first card games kids learn because of its simplicity. Solitaire, on the other hand, has a rich history that goes back even further, with origins in Europe in the late 18th century. What I find fascinating about War is that it relies heavily on luck, while solitaire requires a bit more strategy and patience. This makes each game unique in its way. War is straightforward and fast-paced, which is great for quick, casual play. Solitaire can be more relaxing and requires a bit more thought, which can be very satisfying when you finally win. Both games have their charm and offer different kinds of enjoyment. War might not have the depth of solitaire, but it has its own appeal in its simplicity and the way it can quickly decide a winner. I think both games have survived for so long because they are easy to learn and play, making them accessible to everyone, regardless of age or skill level.
