FYI Japan has 6 VCs under its control
On the CAU russian stack, the odds were not with you given I brought in a bunch of japanese planes. The odds were actually in the japanese favor due to the planes.

Gunna do the American attack on SZ 62. If it looks like Australia can finish off the Japanese fleet and save the game, then I’ll do a real purchase, etc turn.

Yea…, you’da prolly had to have only 1-4 hits and my attack with almost 100% accuracy…
If I get stuck with Allies again, I want to have a 20 IPC bid, half for India. Or we can swap sides.
-
Happy to play another, with me as allies. Thanks for playing allies two in a row. After the previous axis loss I wanted to try something new to see how it worked out. Not quite the strategy I had originally intended, but same result – ie win in Pacific was the objective.
After playing allies twice now with the new alpha 3 rules, do you think the advantage has swung to the axis? We had a split 2 games with each power winning, but perhaps you feel the axis have the inherent advantage now?
Let me know if you start a new thread as axis
Cheers
-
No, I don’t think the advantage swung. I think the advantage was straight up erased and replaced with a “no hope” sign. :P

interesting – you think it is so far in axis favor that allies have very low chance of winning now? Less than 30% (ie ~1 out of 3 games)? The 1 in 3 game model is what I typically considered balanced, with the axis winning 1 in 3 (I like when axis are the tougher powers to play with two equally skilled players; mostly a holdover from classic AA)

Thou shall see what I mean.
I’d say, just based on what I have seen so far mind you, there’s about a 1 in 8 chance the allies will win. Maybe 1 in 7. Now, that does not mean we won’t discover something in the next few hours that changes my opinion!
