If you could create a super-group…
-
If you could take any musicians from different bands to create the ultimate super-group, who would be in yours?
Rules:
_Maximum of 4 people (guitar, drums, bass and dedicated vocalist). Minimum of 3 (guitar, bass, drums; with one of the three doubling as vocalist).
Oh yes… and the limit would be one musician from each historical group. Meaning you can’t have both Paul McCartney and George Harrison or something.
The individuals can be from any decade of music and any genre. You may ignore age differences among the musicians and think of it as though they all were of debut age… or thereabouts. My original idea for this was to limit it to classic rock, but we don’t have to._
I suppose you can name the band if you want to.

Me, Myself, and I.
I look in the mirror every morning and embrace my super group.
Yeah!

Yeah!
That is not quite what I was looking for. :-P

As an example, here is mine; or one that I thought up pretty quick-like:
Vocals: Robert Plant
(Led Zeppelin)Guitar: Jack White
Bass: Geddy Lee
(Rush)Drums: Ginger Baker
(Cream) -
Jimi Hendrix-lead guitar
Peter Gabriel-vocals
Les Claypool (Primus)- bass
Keith Moon (Who)-drums
Keith Emerson (ELP)-keyboards -
@captain:

Keith Moon (Who)-drums
Keith Emerson (ELP)-keyboardsNice… You did throw in the extra man for keyboards, but I guess I will let it slide.
I dig the Hendrix-Moon thing… I can hear it now.
Interesting choice with Peter Gabriel on vocals. Haven’t heard of the other two.

Vocals- Robert Plant
Guitar- Jimmy Page
Bass- John Paul Jones
Drums- John Bonham -

Neurosis
I hate it when youtube links are posted as evidence of a premise not clearly stated in the first place. Whatever the intended effect, it clearly is not in the spirit of this thread.
Seems like it would belong more on your “Best song (album) ever” topic.

I know we all wish Led Zeppelin would be reborn, but this does not even attempt to address in serious terms what I am asking for.
I am kinda surprised that I didn’t see Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce instead.
I think you need to change your name to jimmypage.

AU CONTRAIR! He is saying Neurosis is his super group.

Pwned!
I (and everyone else) could use some explanation to the that effect.
And I thought it went without mentioning, though it seems not so, that you cannot just choose an existing band.

Oh here we go!
Changing the rules of the game!!! I’ve played Axis and Allies against your kind before!

It’s my game and I’ll change the rules if I want to! :-P
But apparently following the rule in the first place doesn’t matter! From my above rules:
Oh yes… and the limit would be one musician from each historical group.

Fine…
You win… ;)

Geeze OK I will conform to your precious rules then. GOD!
Rowland S Howard: guitar

Why thank you Vance or Variance… whichever you were/prefer! I appreciate it, even though I have next to zero reference for the people in your band. That would be my problem, not yours.
