This is because of the cost of metals and the value of the same to the war effort. Only the rich could afford them. Pretty obvious except to the uneducated.

Heres just a thought paint your 911 Porsche with the black and red Iron cross and on the front bumper have PANZER written backwards and on the rear bumper/spoiler the same thing but not backwards
