  • We got ours today.  Can’t play it before Christmas cause its goin under the tree.  I can see when FMG gets his pieces we are going to make the granddaddy of all House Rules for this game.  I love the huge board.  Now I just need some quality pieces.  Merry Christmas, guys.

  • Received mine yesterday.  Had to pay 12 pounds tax on the door.

Cant wait to play! It’ll be after xmas now

Got 2 copies the other day, one for me, one for a friend.

My friend got 2 maps of fkin CHINA! and no map of U.S. Side! wtf.

I called WOTC and they sent me a second map, I gave my friend MY copy of the second half of the map.

Played a game.  Japan HAS to attack j1 IMO.

  • Read the rulebook and the FAQ/Errata (uugghh) and I’m all updated.  Set it up once to see the “starting lineup”.  First game will be Saturday (Canadian Boxing Day) with 2 other AAjunkies. :-)

My AAP40 came 12/22/09 from fantasygames on E-Bay. Purchased for $54.99 Buy-it-now. They only had five at the time. I think they have gotten more in but raised the price some. Probably sold out by now. Noticed some problems right away. But if you are a AA fan what are you going to do? I did pick up a good used AAP for $12.00 on E-Bay mainly to get extra parts. I needed the F6Fs or F4Fs whichever they are for the navy fighters. I do not understand why these were in the old AAP and not in the new AAP40. P-38s on carriers? NUTS. Also got some more roundels, a bigger battle board, IPC certificates, AA guns, grey&red chips and ICs. Plus all the other plastic units that came with AAP. But if you look for a used AAP, be sure that the Japanese units are not red. Look for the game with a small package of red Chinese infantry so that you get the burnt orange color for Japan. I will not discuss the other problems here as I have seen lots of posts pointing these out already. Fishmoto

  • MERRY XMAS TO ME!  My best friend got me the last copy from the FLGS!

  • Purchased for $54.99 Buy-it-now.

Jesus! That’s peanuts! Why is it so frigging expensive over here?!

  • Got it yesterday for Christmas.  I just finished my first game… hopefully I’ll understand the rules a little better before my next game

Hmmm, it’s been tough but I think I’m going to give AAP40 a miss. If a second print/run is released in the future (with corrected rulebook, map, battleboard, IPC chart etc) then I’ll certainly pick up a copy. I’m sorry, I really am. It’s a shame.

  • I’m feeling that way, too. Financial constraints just won’t let me spend the cash on this game. It’s too much money and there seems to be too many little errors.

  • got mine from local game shop here in omaha.  $90 but all board games were 30% off.  $67 all said and done.  recieved it for christmas.  killed me waiting a week for it.  will play tomorrow.

  • FINALLY, NEVER ORDIRING MINE ONLINE AGAIN. HATE REMOTE POSTAGE IN AUS

  • Awesome, just got mine!
First copy of AA I’ve personally ever owned.

I felt compelled to sign up and share.  :)
AA Is quickly becoming a monthly event, prior we’ve been using the original version, I think, so everyone is super excited.

  • Got it tonight! Set it up on the kitchen table and just droolled for a while. The game itself was a blast to play but I found all the previous complaints to be true, however not too tough to work around. I really really REALLY like the tac bombers. The game feels like there is a ton of depth to it but at half past eleven I had to call it quits. Japan wound up with everything but Hawaii and San Fran…

I let my three year old roll the not so nice dice that came with the game (kept him amused) and played with my star wars dice (basically a nice set of velvet chessex). Borrowed chips and IPCs from Revised. The battle strip shouldn’t even have been included with the game. It was tough keeping track of some the newer rules like NOs. I was happy just to find boxes for each country because my copy of revised still has old fishing tackle boxes and plastic baggies for storage…

  • Got home tonight from Fort Sill, and my copy had arrived this early this week week.  Plan to check it out tomorrow, and then start my letters to WotC to get new battle strip and pieces if (!) I need any.

  • Which reminds me, I need to get a new battlestrip, pronto!
