heh heh that ought to keep a guy busy
Take a look at this game. Its called World War IV!!
-
-
What’s the back story?
It looks like the political map for a George Orwell novel.

I though World War IV would be fought with stick and stones! :?

“Whatever weapons World War III will be fought with, World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”-Albert Einstein
IMO, any WWIV game ought to be based on the Fallout series.

Yah that is a bad date
World War III is going to be from 2016-2018 and after a short lived cease fire continue in 2022-2026
World War IV will be from 2042-2053

Nice plastic pieces, lets cannibalize them and put them to good use in A&A, with some house rules. I love the spy unit. The ships look great. The big one can be an oil tanker. Finally I got my horse mounted cossack cavallery for the east front. The halftrack will fit as the mech unit, cost 4, att 2 def 2 move 3. The fort unit will make it, also the atomic bomb tokens.

the rulebook

They collect income before combat. Looks like they got advice from IL.
-
Yea or Von Manstein. :-D
-
they put a lot of thought into the back story in any case. i wouldn’t mind giving this one a whirl

I sure hope they put some thought into the playtesting as well. That combat table dont look very KISS to me, man.
-
Is Sweden or Norway in the game??
-
no they got both nuked first in WW3.
-
I have oil tankers in A&A used in conjunction with my “ships must refuel every turn” requirement. They can extend a fleets range of operation beyond the range of friendly port facilities. Of course the tankers themselves need to refuel in port…
That armour unit looks more suitable for a light tank piece. The “Bomber” unit for long range fighters?
Has anyone picked up the Suez canal rule; is it placed incorrectly between Egypt and Arabia like in A&A? Or has the shift in tectonic plates squashed the Sinai peninsular into Egypt?
Papua is spelled Papau!
They really should have telescoped Europe a bit; even if it isn’t that important in this game it’s still absurdly small.
Hope the game isn’t broken by the “Kill the King” mechanic in the way A&A is broken by “Capture the Capital”.
Anyone for WW V? My suggestion is that the technology degenerates, so that you start off with nukes, but as the world is destroyed the players end up fighting with sticks, as AE foresaw.

Has anyone here bought this game and can reveal their impressions?
