Yeah, the allied player was very generous. I capured a total of 15ish supply tokens from them :-D

I was just reviewing the rules on the attack phase and it states that “You may choose to roll less than the alloted dice if you wish by holding back certain units in the attack. Any units you hold back may not attack this turn.”

Question: When attacking, is there any tactical reason to roll less dice than the alloted amount? Since there is no counter attack, keeping units from attacking doesn’t seem to serve any useful purpose. Am I missing something?

The main reason for this would probably be to keep from destroying the supplies on the hex tile.

1. The Supplies may be moved.

2. The Tanks may retreat into the city hex, assuming that no adjacent hexes contain Allied combat units.

I just pick this up last week and after about 5 games I can say yes. I would warn them however that playing the Allies takes a lot of tactics and maneuvering!

If the enemy units are pushed back or eliminated so that the Truck is no longer in the ZoC, the Truck can move.  Also, the Truck can move one hex out of the ZoC in the Movement part of the Movement & Reinforcement phase, then move off the board in the next turn, assuming it is still out of the ZoC at that time.

Units, including Tanks, may only move in the Movement & Reinforcement phase (other than retreating, of course), so if a unit is retreated it may not attack in the same turn.

Well said. This has become a very enjoyable game in my house. It’s fun to trade off sides every other game since the strategies employed by both sides are so different.

The only thing that I know of that you can do is edit the original post and change the Message Icon that appears next to the thread, but I don’t know how much success you’d have trying to get people to do it consistently.

Enemy zones of control are unaffected by the front lines or the presence of friendly units.  Yes, blitzing can be risky, but it can also be quite rewarding, as it can cut off your opponent’s retreats as well.  Many times it all depends on who wins the initiative roll.

No, you’ve been doing it right.  Only Trucks may enter the board from any side, regardless of their Reinforcement Chart of origin.

I just realized, writing this (at work), thinking about the few games I’ve played this far, what a fantastically fun game this is. I’m so looking forward to my next game as the allies. It’s going to be the first time I play the allies having a more full understanding of the gameplay.

I use them as mech infantry about 2-3 years before Mech infantry actually existed in AA. I didn’t like the table tactic pieces . they are horrible quality

You cannot move trucks through an enemy zone of control when moving them offboard.  From the Errata:

Page 11, Trucks - Special Abilities - Return: “At the beginning of the Movement & Reinforcement phase, before either player moves, you may return any of your Trucks that aren’t in the enemy zone of control and can trace a path on roads to a friendly edge of the board without passing through an enemy zone of control or enemy-controlled city to your off-board area.”

There is also a circumstance in which you can move a truck in an enemy zone of control offboard.  Also from the Errata:

Pages 18-19, Basic Movement Rules: “An empty Truck that begins movement in a hex on a friendly edge of the board with a road going off the board in that hex (even if that hex is in an enemy zone of control) may move off-board, in which case you return it to your off-board area.”
