The asian complexes are actually indirectly helping europe in 2 ways. First, if Japan is forced to deal with the Asian complexes it can’t attack russia easily. This allows Russia to not worry about the far eastern front. Second, it allows Britain and US slightly higher cash outs per turn. The majority of their money is stil spent on Europe.

RE: Japanese Invasion–first and second moves
if Us takes a Japan first strategy russia can put his head between his legs and kiss his butt goodbye.

RE: Allied strategem for upcoming game
I got ****ing lucky. First turn, Germany and Japan each take no casualties in initial attacks, Germany has enough stuff to hold eastern Europe. Third turn - Germany attacks Ukraine with like 10 infantry and a boat load of fighters, gets no hits, and 7 out of my 9 infantry hit. By turn 7 Germany was daed
and he conceeded. Japan was still in Yakut. -
RE: I've been doing some maths today
I just want the battleships, just to have them. =) In fact, give them to russia! Never seen russia buy a bb other than a joke, this would just be funny =)

RE: Allied strategem for upcoming game
I won the game =)
And what I ment by Kamakazee is he builds a lot of fighters and throws them at the british and american transport, with full intention of them dieing, but takes down a good number of transports with him.

RE: AAEurope
14 tanks a turn? Did I miss something? Max germany can build at full income is 8 tanks.
-
RE: AAEurope
I disagree. The middle east provinces are actually less worth taking than the others. Why? Because the allies never made anything from it in teh first place. Also, if you capture it the allies can conveniently spread out the cash they are recieving so it makes no real impact on the overall allied war effort. I usually attack the middle east, but don’t put any real amount of units in there.
Instead, I buy lots of bombers and strat bomb russia every turn and slowly push into Russia before the other allies have their act together. With good fighter and sub useage Germany can hold teh allies off for 5 or 6 turns.

RE: Transport Clarifications
1. - No
2. No, but note its a bug in the computer game and tanks can load after moving, this this not intended. -
RE: A&A via email
playing via email is very slow. I suggest using the video game or doing it via Chat roo m, makes the games last longer.

RE: Japanese Invasion–first and second moves
So you don’t use your transport to block Japan from a naval invasion on india? Big mistake? Why?
With 2 inf 1 fighter in japan, I can not only easily assault India with the Phil transport, I can also keep my mainland reinforced and attack china. How? 4 Infantry 2 figher into India, 2 infantry 1 figher 1 bomber into China.
With it in blockig position I cannot take and hold it.

RE: How long do your board games usually last?
Yeah W@W is rough. you can expect most every game to be about 25 hours. World? a 45 turn game can be several days.

RE: A&A pacific
Pacific is a fun game. I love playing Japan. I usually can win by victory points. I get 3/4/4/4/4/4 victory points a turn and win. Or US takes enough from me that I never attain that goal.

RE: Japanese Invasion–first and second moves
I bet you i can put more pressure on the allies with transports instead. I’ve said this a million times, and I am gonna say it again, you cannot put the desired pressure on the allies with an industrial complex. By the end of the second turn, with an industrial complex, you have the potential of 4 infantry 3 tanks on the mainland. Add in the 3 fighters and 1 bomber. Thats (8 + 9 + 9 + 4) 26 attack points with 11 ground units. Or choose 12 infantry 1 tank and the airforce (12 + 3 + 9 + 4) and you get 28 attack points among 13 ground units.
So infantry not only put out more attack points but more ground units.

RE: First attack with russia
“The best plan never survives contact with the enemy”
I agree, don’t stick strictly to a plan. Be flexible, learn to adapt. I plan for turns ahead, but I always have 2 or 3 backup plans. I usually play with the philosophy let them break down, as long as I keep running I am safe.

RE: Hmmmmm
Well, an Axis player asking for advice. I myself am mainly an axis player, but I play allies enough to help you out.
Us objectives (IMO)
1. Destroy ANY AND ALL German transports leading to africa
2. Keep a constant flow (every other turn) of troops going from Canada to Karelia.
3. Ignore the Japaneese unless they have a chance of taking Western Us, and in that case just build infantry
4. Eventually, combined with a threepronged Britan-Us-Russia attack take Germany.
5. (not always) build a sinkang factory to help an indian factory in Asia
6. Destroy any Japaneese Fleet threatning Brazil or South AfricaBuild first turn - For me its 3 transports 4 infantry
I usually reeiforce any British tank in Algeria/French West. Then I land the fighter and bomber there, attack any fleet I can, move my infantry and tank to Canada, and finish my turn. If Japan didn’t attack China (big mistake) I pull back to sinkang and instead build a factory there.

Allied strategem for upcoming game
Ok, heres my plan. I am currently in the semi-finals at my local gaming network, and I need some advice on my final battle plans. I am playing allies, with a 5 infantry bid in Ukraine. Here is my plan, but first some backround.
My opponent is the defending champ, and he is good. He is a flawless Axis player. He doesn’t make mistakes. He has astounding luck (Last game I played him this 1 japaneese transport held off an entire Us fleet!)
Here is my plan. Since we’re playing Russia Restricted, I will buy 3 tanks 3 infantry, forcing him to bring his ukraine force inland or face 6 tanks 2 fighters and countless infantry. Next, (btw this is what all Axis players do every game) When he consolidates his Libayan forces and reinforcing them, I run out of Syria. I move the British Sub into blocking position, the Transport 2 inf 1 figher from India to Syria, 1 tank 1 infantry to Syria from Egypt. this gives me a force of 4 infantry 1 tank 1 fighter in Syria. Now, I move the south African infantry into blocking position. I then build an Industrial Complex in South Africa, saving 15$.
On the Us turn, I move any surviving Us fleet toward the Atlantic. I build 3 transports 4 infantry and End my turn, flying fighters and bombers toward Britain.
Now, I plan to mainly ignore mainland asia for some time, instead I plan to kill off any German Transports early, and keep him out of Africa. Then I Reinforce Russia with Fighters and British infantry, allowing russia to Send infantry to delay the Japaneese.
I continue the game like this, by turn 10 or so I think I could be able to kill Germany, if Japan hasn’t already done Russia in. After Africa is secure, I plan to produce subs from the South African factory to further delay the Japaneese.
Problems? Well the British are going to be hard pressed in Africa. I think he should be able to easily get 12 infantry in before I can destroy his Transports. combined with his signature huge kamakazee airforce, I think I am gonna be in for a fight.
By the End of turn 2 I hope to have something like 2 British tanks, 1 British Infantry, 6 American Infantry, 1 American Tank, and the Syrian force in Africa to force out the Germans. Any extra cash Britain has will be spent on bombers to take out the German Fleet.
comments? I need advice on this quick, for my game is soon.

RE: Japanese Invasion–first and second moves
Ok, I myself have a few problems with your strategy, and since I’ve said this a million times, I’m not gonna argue against your industrial complex… BUT
Why buy it so early? Your not really putting it to good use. Your only buying 2 tanks second turn, and you have 2 transports already. Why not just not buy the industrial complex? Or even wait a few turns.
Second, why the bombers?
And third, how do you plan on taking a combined Sinkang/India factory combo? I see no feesable way to do this without buying more land troops early in the game. But I’ll let you explain that yourself.

RE: Panama Canal Zone
Ok, Panama is a really strange thing. See, its the same sea zone on each side. But, it takes 1 movement for ships to pass through. The rules clarification or the rules in general never really mention planes, so its generally accepted that plans can fly freely over.
