Its not that Russia cant go first. Russia cant ATTACK first turn. Russia gets to buy, do noncombat movement, and place and collect. This is done because it is found without it Russia puts 5 inf 1 tank 2 fighters into Ukraine and Germany has little if no chance for attacking Russia in 5 or 6 turns. Axis usually lose in this situation because Russia is strong enough to keep Japan back.

Thats a great idea! We could Start an Axis and Allies.org league! Anyone else want to try?

RE: Who are you?
Good idea.
My name is EJ Fagan, I’m 14 (yeah I’m young but I’ll whoop you all in a game anyway!) From Ramsey NJ. I play with about 25 different guys (Games big in our town, not much else to do in the Small-Town-Suberbs) I’m in the top of our group, and own every Axis and Allies game except europe and Europe at war (Not much of a fan of Europe)

RE: Can allies win?
Yeah I like to do that too. Move indians to Sinkang, if China survives move them there too. Move the Trn to Aussieland. Then take back India with guys in Sinkang and Austalia at the same time. if the Sub in WMed survived that can be useful too.

RE: New guy.
Maps are fun to create, in fact I highly recommend trying to make your own A&A games with your home made maps. I’m currently in the process of making a WWIII map. I may just end up using the 1939: World at War map though.

RE: Can allies win?
NEVER do the Manchuria or Kwangtang attacks, but if you want a good strategy for Asian defense try this.
British IC in india
American IC in Singking(sp)
2 inf a turn heading toward India or Sinking from Russia. Usually the allies can keep it up for about 5 or 6 turns on average before being overrun. By then there should be enough Allied Fighters and inf in Karellia for Russia to survive. Also allied Bombers in Novo help too. -
RE: Aircraft Carrier With Allied Fighter
The American figher will only fight when Defending. It will fight as a normal figher.
When attacking the Figher is considered Dead weight, it doesnt fight and if the aircraft carrier is sunk the fighter dies unless it can land in that sea zone.

RE: First attack with russia
Yes, attacking first turn can cripple the Germans if you do it right.
I usually do 2 Fighters 5 inf maybe 1 tank attacks Ukraine. Also I attack the German Baltic fleet with 1 sub 1 trn. Note, dont do the Manchuria attack, it dooms russia in the long run.

RE: All power to the soviets
I disagree, if Russian can attack first turn then Germany is screwed, but if they dont attack first turn Russia can recover.

RE: Feedback on my Kraut strategy.
Although your assuming Russia didnt attack (or use that rules variant) This Strategy seems pretty sound. I’d Buy more infantry than tanks though, just to keep the ratio down. You also might want to wait to attack Egypt till T2, purely because your force is easily counterable by the Indians and Syrians.

RE: Best Japanese first turn.
Personally, I dont like the Panama invasion. I like to land the 4 inf into Argentina then move them into Brazil next turn. Only reason for my prefering this is to get to Brazil on Turn 3 and then an IC there on turn 4.

RE: All power to the soviets
Hmm, interesting idea. I would change it just a little. Why not attack to kill on Ukraine. Send in the 5 inf 2 fighers. Then Strafe (retreat after 1 or 2 rounds) Eastern Europe. Manchuria I wouldnt attack at all that turn. but instead attack on R2. I might just try this next time.

RE: Best Japanese first turn.
Oh, my mistake. Well in that case As america I’d just build enough inf to hold you off, then continue to build trn for Anti - Germany, not actually countering you. One thing I would do though, is if the sub survived do a hit and run, and evac the rest of my fleet to the Atlantic.

RE: World at War
you should really buy the game, it uses a different map. I think Xenogames changed its name, try Ebay. The rules are pretty long but I might type them out one day.

RE: England defend Africa???
I dont mean 15 inf on the short term, but a good German player can protect his transports and disrupt shipping to Africa for 3 or 4 turns. This can be done with Fighters, subs, and bombers.

RE: Best Japanese first turn.
Us can kill the attacking pearl harbor fleet, at the expense of their own air force. You can attack with 1 BS, 1 Trn, 2 Ftr, 1 Bmr and the sub if it survived. This will usually take a big chunk of the Japaneese fleet out, but kill all US planes.

RE: German strategy idea
Tech rolls are a gamble, but like any gamble you can turn out really big. Germany never really has the time or cash to go Tech, but Japan is another matter. I’ve seen games won simple because Japan got Heavy Bombers or Ind Tech.
About the tank/inf ratio, let me give you a little math.
If you buy 3 tanks (15) you get 1.5 hits first round.
If you buy 6 inf, you get 1 hit first round. But the difference is that with the 6 inf you can take twice the hits, thereby getting more hits in the long run. On defense Inf are even better obviously.
The 9 inf 1 tank if basically 4 inf for Africa, 5 for East Europe, and 1 tank for some extra offense.

RE: Radical new axis strategy
Couple of problems with this. I’m assumming you dont use your airforce to kill the British navy or backup Africa? What happens when Britan pops in 1 figher and some inf every turn? Or better yet, T1 you get 4 British inf into WE, then America 2 inf, then its a pretty even battle for Karelia, with odds to Russia. Then, after that, America, with its 3 Trn buy, puts 6 MORE inf into WE, then Britan puts its buy into WE. Bottom line, your plan would fail.
No offense, just attack Karelia before T7 is hard, if not impossible.
