Does anyone know a game website near California that will have Axis and Allies Europe 1940?  Everywhere I see online is Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Mass.  Id like to get the game soon.

I believe that Germany has a much more important task than Italy.  For me it seems like Italy is more of the distraction than the big meal.  The Italians are tasked with keeping the British occupied and controlling the Mediteranian and the important roles of crushing Russia belong to Germany.  In that case I would want Italy to have some IPCS but for Germany to have the lions share of the European IPCS. 
I think due to the fact that countries can not attack simultaneously it is important to have one significantly strong power and one fairly weak power then two medicore powers.  That being said, lets hope the Germans take France and are enough to take out Russia, while Italy can cause the British some heartache in Africa.

I am really not a big fan of making several high risk gambles in my axis and allies games and I prefer to have my big battles secured numerically.  I think the keys to Italy are taking out the UK Navy followed by Egypt and Gibraltar and taking the Balkans.  Attacking France itself makes it much harder you to achieve your primary objectives and Germany needs the money to attack Russia.  To be honest, 1 turn is not going to set you back that much with the Russians as they will collect 30 something dollars, but Germany will gain at least that in their first turn just off NOs and taking France which can be thrown against Russia.

Are there any websites that I can order the game from that ship before the release date so I can have the game to play on the 24th of August or if I am ordering it will it be a few days late?

I think we are going to see the same ignore Japan, KGF strategies that we have seen in all of the other games.  It takes the lions share of America’s income to effectively fight off Japan in Pacific40 and I dont think the Americans want to spend 50+ dollars trying to retake Islands and hurt Japan that is so far away and it will take Japan several turns to get their tank rush in range of Moscow.  I think the bulk of American players in this game will send all of their transports and carriers to North Africa to fight the Italians and then move towards Northen Europe just like in the other games.  Call me a cynic but I think the game will follow the path of the regular war.  85% to Europe, 15% to Japan…if that even.

I think that all of the pro-axis and pro-allied neutrals will be gobbled up as soon as possible by the closest forces.  It seems like the team that is right there will just move an infantry or tank in to take it.  The only exception might be in the Balkans where the allies could have a problem getting to Greece if the Italians can keep them out of the Mediteranian.

I was thinking about helping defend Africa and moving my planes in India to Syria but apparently I cant fly over other neutral countries?  I would hate to have those planes land in British solialand and get smoked by 3 italian infantry, sounds impossible but it has happened frequently.

I wouldnt count on that.  The Russian forces provide a wonderful deterrant against Japanese aggression, even in China.  It ensure that Japan at least has to keep a token force not to lose Korea and Manchuria.  Also those 18 infantry in Amur are several turns away from being useful in Moscow or against Germany.  I feel that a good Russian player will place them all in amur because if they are split up the Japanese can get them piecemeal.

I really dont mind the P-38 as the American plane.  Obviously it wasnt as popular as the Mustang, but it has a very original look to it.  I like how they look different instead of somewhat the same but just different colors.  Now the Stuka is a problem because it was the quintessential dive bomber of the war and its segregated as a fighter.  I wonder if they will switch that up with the game and have a Messerschmidt as the fighter and move the Stuka to the tac bomber.

The map looks great.  I dont have any complaints and I assume that the final version will end up looking very much like this.

In both games we took Japan and the 6 VCs.  But if its not gonna happen we have like a super battle go down and get all the transports and planes and have it fight all of Japans stuff for the heck of it even though the Allies won.

I have seen it very very even.  I played two games and I am 2-0, one with allies and one with Japan.  Both against very good but not spectacular opponents (Im not great but I can be creative and level headed).  The games were slugmatches from the very beginning. 
Both games were won and lost in China and the victor was able to play a better game of cat and mouse with their American/Japanese navy.  Its probably the best and most balanced axis and allies expierence I have had.

Personally we just roll the dice in the box or on the board.  And I thought about using fleet markers as well but we never got around to it.  This game really should have included that.  And the Europe game should include land based task forces markers.

I immediately pushed my Navy South and took NSW from the Austrailians (he had alot of troops in Queensland).  I also built a factory in Kwangtung which the next turn I made 9 men there (and a transport) followed by 10 tanks the next turn.  I traded NSW for a few turns back and forth eventually killing off all the Australian troops two turns before America could send their then massive navy to Austrailia.

I used two transports and took Sumatra and Malaya with Battleship and Destroyer support, and smashed the remaining Brits and 3 Chinese in Yunnan at the cost of about 8 planes to the 4 British planes and several infantry.

With Australia clear of troops I moved transports and bombers into a poor India and took it over and blocked the United States from reaching Austrailia, Japan, or the Phillipenes.

Thank you all for the advice, but next time Ill attack sooner with Japan, the Brits got rich fast which caused me a big headache.

My current strategy is to take Austrailia and to take Pearl Harbor.  My first game as Japan and Ive yet to see if it will work.  The other game I played the Japanese guy tried to take India but got severly bogged down and was destroyed piece by piece in the DEI.

I have about 52 IPCs at the Current time.  I have all of the DEI except Malaya and Sumarta.  I have 5 transports total; with 4 of them in the DEI.  China has about 6 infantry and they are all on Yunnan, but I have my remaining infantry (about 8 of them and 2 arty) sitting just north acccompanied by about 20 planes on Asia.  England has about 15 infantry, 4 fighters, and 3 tanks sitting in their territories, mostly just south of Yunnan.
Im thinking about that factory in Kwangtung next turn because I need the ground support to go with my air supremacy.

I can definetly take NSW in this turn but that would leave Japan open to the equal US fleet sitting at Pearl Harbor which could head towards Japan (but I could quickly moblize some men and fly my fighters back to the homeland to scramble after blocking them for a turn.)  Also do you think NSW is a good plan because my fleet will be so far South, 3 turns from Japan.  Will he chase my fleet or head to Japan and forget Austrailia.

Im gonna get this game started back up in about 3 hours so it should be interesting.  But I think Im gonna build a major factory in kwangtung, block him from Japan and send all of my navies to NSW and take Austrailia.

Im on Turn 4 and I attacked Turn 3 with the Japs, kind of expirimenting and felt it was a terrible idea because England gets tons of bonuses which they spent entirely on infantry.  Ive taken most of the DEI (save for Malaya), and the British Navy was defeated by a force of a carrier and a battleship next to Malaya. 
China is mostly taken but I have an overabundance of planes and a massive shortage of infantry.

I have a large fleet in the Carolina Islands: 4 carriers with 4 tac-bombers, and 4 fighters.  1 battleship, and 7 destroyers. 25 hits, and 46 die points.

Against me harbored at Pearl are: 3 American Carriers, 1 Battleship, 2 Cruisers, 1 Destroyer, and 1 Submarine.  4 Fighters, 3 Tactical Bombers, and 3 regular bombers stationed on the island.  This is the sole American navy.  22 hits, and 47 die points.

What do I do?  Im thinking to Crush the American navy and use my transports in the DEI to take out Austrailia in the oncoming turns, and forget India.  Or should I build a huge factory in Hong Kong and start pumping out troops.

Any ideas or suggestions?

No, it means that Avalon Hill didnt anticipate demand and made too few copies.  Dont read too much into this, they arent gonna pull games.
If anything they will place an updated version in the new boxes.
