@always-wanderer awesome work, well done. Glad you kept the spirit of the original idea and used similar illustrations as well. Love those tech cards. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

RE: Customizers: which A&A games do you own?
Wow… everyone’s an Axis & Allies hoarder
Atm just own the Anniversary Ed… at some point owned the Revised Ed, Guadalcanal and Battle of the Bulge…played D-Day, Europe 1940, Pacific 1940 and the Global as well; opted to just keep the Anniversary Ed, best choice of all the ones I’ve played in terms of playtime and global map.Got worried? :grimacing:

RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
Last 3…now we have 12 NAs for the major powers and 6 for Italy plus 3 for China. what do you think?
-
RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
Alright, might do 12 cards for the major powers and 6 for Italy…might work without stretching too much what a National Advantage should be… Did a few already, the text and titles aren’t definitive…just drafts, but I’m happy with the ideas so far. Had to include Banzai Attacks and Non-Aggression Treaty at least for now.
-
RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
@SS-GEN No, Im saying these are no NAs at all… Historically Banzai attacks were never successful… why give a 2 attack value to infantry?! My point is, you might get maybe 12 NAs for Germany but not for Japan or Russia for example without creating non sense NAs…

12 cards each would be good.
What I mean is, take the Revised Edition for example…6 NAs for each power, and you already end up with Banzai Attacks and Non-Aggression Treaty to fill up the total…
“6. Banzai Attacks
When you begin an attack with only infantry, all those infantry attack on a 2. This also applies to any amphibious assault in which your attacking land units consist of only infantry.”How come this is a National Advantage…? Never ever was a story of success with these attacks…
The same for the Non-Aggression Treaty… 4 Infantry for free just like that…
Now imagine squeezing 12 NAs… you’ll end up with anything but NAs imo

We need people to make alot more cards including alot more Italian ones and about a dozen minimum for each side in global 40.
12 is too much for most powers… You’ll end up with non sense “National Advantages”… Even more difficult for the Italians… ;)

@LHoffman was thinking the same…even though the advantage is called Most Powerful Battleships in the Revised Ed… changed it… also the Flying boats its now Sub-Hunters, makes more sense as I definitely wanted a de Havilland tactical bomber on the image… :)
Nice! I was trying to wrap my head around a Hornet or Mosquito on a Flying Boats card and understood your intent, but I think what you changed to works better overall.
Again, great set of cards. I followed Young Grasshopper’s Delta card deck with great interest a few years ago and have been collecting art to create my own at some point. But this set is very simple, is based in established A&A legacy and the aesthetic matches perfectly with the A&A brand.
The German Advanced Research card is genius, both in the illustration chosen and the reasoning behind the card. Easily my favorite.
Thanks, glad you like it ;) I believe the biggest challenge was with the Free French cards and a getting a dynamic mechanism for these. The idea for the Flying boats card was to have a Short Sunderland aircraft on the image but the British A&A tactical bomber is a Mosquito… so went for a pic of this one instead…but the title doesnt match… I think sub-hunters is a broader term and makes more sense altogether. Otherwise… this would be the card:

@malstrom https://www.thegamecrafter.com/publish/products
Deck prices are there, poker size deck.
-
RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
@malstrom Hi, the deck is $4.98. You can play with just the cards, but maybe 7 or less of these cards won’t make much sense…because they have references to the tac bombers, bases and France…

You mentioned that the print shop you used likes to create a large run of prints. That makes sense for everbody. Do you think its possible to mentor a group of interested persons who would want to collaborate as a group for group rates? So what may I ask was the cost for the cards for you a single buyer?
Thx
LawrenceSome of their products they just print big quantities like the tokens Medium Circle chits as a sheet has 150 of these. For the decks, they print 18 cards per sheet so for this game, they’ll print 3 sheets. For the deck of 54 cards, costs $4.98.
You can play with just the National Advantage cards. I would say that there are about 7 cards that you won’t be able to use if you leave tac bombers, France rules and the air and naval bases as these cards are specific to these elements.

To provide the convenience factor for the community , could you set the cards up as a product on the product page so we can just click and buy?
@Tjoek said in Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version:
@Imperious-Leader The Axis & Allies logo would probably have to be removed to sell it publicly.
And the source of the nice images might be “copyrighted” as well
Can’t do much about that, its a free print and play unofficial expansion…

RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
Yes, sure. I have the ready to print files in .jpg on dropbox, the link is down:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wli8ficivgzh28y/AADLVC127x_UTCC5F2aAcIW7a?dl=0Even though the files are .jpg these are maximum quality files. Printed through these guys: https://www.thegamecrafter.com/
they did an amazing job. There’s even a “Enable Linen Texture” option and let me tell you that the cards look amazing, these guys are professional. Poker Card size deck. Also, there’s a rules booklet, you can print with these guys as well, choose Medium Booklet. I might change a few things in the Tactical bombers section, I don’t think I mention that these can bomb factories as well…
I guess the Free French tokens are optional, you don’t really need them but adds a nice touch. You’ll need 5 of these. Medium Circle Chit. The thing is, I believe they only print big quantities of these, and I had another project and printed the remaining punch outs as tokens for the other project.
As to the miniatures, http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/
You’ll need 2 sets of Factory tokens that include air bases and naval bases, about 3 - 4 Tac Bombers for each power, 2 French roundels and French units: 2 Submarines, 2 Destroyers and 1 Cruiser. All the files and suggested print shop above.

@Dagon81 HI … I agree these cards are wonderful and very beautiful. But rumor us it will be about 50 bucks to create/print them. Is there a group rate? I was also hoping you could send the link to the full set download Warmly Lawrence
Hi Lawrence, thanks, glad you liked them :) Did the math, for the French units plus air and naval bases and Tac Bombers on http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/ its around $18 plus shipping costs… and $7.08 for the deck and rulebook (not including the Free French tokens) plus shipping costs on https://www.thegamecrafter.com/…
Unless you’re from outside the US…its definitely not $50…

RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
Thanks ;)
About the sea units that can be built on naval bases/factories, I’ve been doing the same: BB, CV and CA only on the original Industrial Complexes with an operational naval base; all the new ICs can only build destroyers or below (again with an operational naval base).
Didn’t include this in the rulebook, maybe its good to include as well…
@barnee said in Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version:
Do you have a link to all the changes ?
Yeah, in the dropbox link you’ll find the loose pages of a booklet (1-12) with all the Optional rules:

RE: Axis & Allies Anniversary upgraded version
Forgot to mention a major rule for France:
“At the start of their turn, before their respective Research and Development Phase, the German or Italian player may attempt to capture the French Fleet in Toulon (Sea Zone 13) if France is Axis controlled and these players have a military presence in France. Roll 1 die for each of the 3 french sea units present in sea zone 13: on a roll of 1, the unit is captured; any other rolls result in the destruction of the unit. Independently of the dice results, the entire remaining Vichy French units on non-occupied territories join the Allies (Free France).”
Also note that some of these National Advantages require air and naval bases…usually 1 per power mentions these facilities.

Plus can you make a few more for Italy ( a full sheet) and Possibly some neutrals like spain, turkey, iraq, etc?
If you knew the struggle to find anything worth for the Italians as NAs… lol… But if you have/find anything worth as NA let me know ;)
