Gents, take a real close look at this dice. The brown dice looks like it got no spots, but some kind of symbols. Krieg, you are the answer guy, what is this supposed to be ?

They probably just changed up the colors because that all that China was making at the time of print. It probably had something to do with lead poisoning or bacteria outbreak if they went with the normal colors.
